Deserve so much better than the spineless bottlejobs playing for us nowand im not impressed by nigels lack of forward planning in the jtw

side is poor in every department and he seems quite happy

"the fans" deserve better? Really? Because from what I saw yesterday in the Shoutbox yesterday "the fans" think "we lost a game, the players are shit we're going down nobody at the club gives a shitand they shouldallbestrung up we'reallgoingtodiegodIhatelifepassmetherazorbladeIcan'tbearbeingalaughingstockanymore::::(((((((("

There were some great painting and decorating puns going off tho Tarquin.

I've refused to believe we are shit, but its becoming a painful reality check.

we have had 2 away games at teams in red hot form , hard though it is to believe other teams try to win to and refuse to just lay back and let us win , as to saying Nigels has no plans , oh yes he has , hes ousted 4 brought in one , first job was to thin down the squad, then get in players , yes its hard to be patient , but its a marathon not a sprint

Oh my word, "it's a marathon not a sprint", and with every loss of points against the teams around us the finish line just gets further away.

What will next weeks little gem be? Men against boys, eleven v eleven, they ran their socks off, blah blah blah. Time for the rhetoric to stop and time to get a grip on games because no matter how you and one or two others seem to come home smiling after a defeat at the likes of Notts County, the bottom line is that unless we start performing we'll get relegated. Never mind though, then we can put it down to "a season of rebuilding", "all part of the long term plan", "we need to be patient" etc etc.

Me? After yesterday I'm as sick as a fucking parrot :(

its panic , we had the start from hell which meant we are in a far more precareious position than we should be in , but we will not go down , by a long way , just wait till the end of february and we will have forgotten about being close to the bottom, once the squads been jigged a bit be fine , we are hardly getting slaughtered every week , just need a few tweaks, Id be more worried if I were a Leeds fan

the likes of notts county , what does that mean , a team whos had as long in the top flight as us in the past 40 years, we do have the biggest mood swings in football and get all too het up over individual games

Do you just cut and paste this every tenth post or something?

say the same about the panic riddled posts you put , we are changing the squad , aint going to click over night, did we get beat 4-0 , look clueless , no , thought we were a tad unlucky , but we are getting better but there will be some setbacks , we havent got the players to change it over night , but will have the squad capable of sterring well clear
just cos we won at villa didnt mean we would beat every league one club 5-0 now, just showed we are starting to improve , still a work in progress

It's quite simple really. It was a reference to them being near the bottom - 2nd from bottom in fact. A team we should be beating...a bit like Stevenage & Oldham in recent weeks. Yesterday was a massive game - much more important than Villa - and we performed poorly and lost. Most of our recent league performances have been poor. There is absolutely nothing to suggest we will ease away from trouble. Our best hope is to bring 3 or 4 decent players in during the JTW.....but all this bollocks about waiting until the summer before the Prince invests suggests the club aren't going to take the decisive action needed.

Don't you go changing now. You make me laugh so much. Given there was no way Wednesday would catch us, then there was no way we wouldn't go up in the play offs two years ago, then we were going up auto last year, then bound to go up in the play off ( swapping places with the Snorts), I hope you'll forgive my lack of faith in your reasoning.

simple , we arent getting thrashed 6-0 by shit clubs , its called comparison , nothing else you like you compare us to notts county and walsall and say we should be thrashing them , why? we have to earn our victories in the same way they did against us

Sorry for being positive , If I get cancer Ill take a leaf out of your book and just give up

why is it irrelevant , am I not being miserable enough, or negative enough

No, you just aren't making sense. We'll be ok come December, then January and now it's February. You have no grounds to be optimistic nor anything to back up your posts. I have the dubious honour of being able to point at our league position and results and say that we're in trouble. Sorry if that upsets but it's true, and whether the scum beat Leeds 6 - 0 or 60 - 0 it's totally irrelevant to this discussion.

RUBBISH , i NEVER SAID WE WERE SAFE FROM CLOUGHS FIRST DAY , SAID CONSISTANTLY THE SQUAD NEEDS SURGERY , but its not going to happen on january 2nd, prem clubs havent bought much yet even those with big wads to spend , iitll be the end of January before we see the final squad , but its been impressive what Nigels got out of the crap left him, to have climbed out the bottom 4 is near a miracle with how we were performing

..yes its hard to be patient , but its a marathon not a sprint

. And here comes Sheffield United, plucky little old Sheffield United, limping into that final relegation spot. It’s been a torturous journey at times but they’ve got there in the end. A fantastic effort by Nigel Clough and the boys, they’ve really took their time and been methodical, sometimes cynical, always stereotypical and occasionally tragicomical without ever resorting to being radical, tactical or even logical. Insisting on walking while all around broke into a cantor, this club, whose motto is ‘It’s a marathon, not a sprint’, are fully deserving of that last relegation place.

love the positivity , if everyone else has broke into a cantor (why they are singing Ive no idea ) how come weve climbed from being adrift at the bottom to being able to lose 2 away and still stay out of the relegation spots , thats not logical , or even monotypical
we have methodically gained enough points to be 6 places higher in 3 months , lets see if we can do that again, logically if we extend what weve done under Clough we will finish 12th not 24th
you do understand logic , apply it instead of going do lally on one game

I must have missed the week we were 25th I suppose.

lets not forget we started this marathon running in diving boots for the first 7 miles they changed to proper running shoes , we only just caught up with the pack

ok get the point we are 19th but logic still applies we finish 5 places higher be 14th , oh shit calamity
dont you ever see anything but doom and gloom , is us not beating the shit out of everyone upsetting you, too many are getting those wednesdayite arrogant genes in their DNA

You really think the current team is capable of finishing 14th? I don't. You also exaggerate the improvement. We are 1 point above relegation, just 2 points above 23rd. In recent weeks we have dropped points against several of the poorest teams in the division. We don't score many and rarely keep clean sheets.

What many of us are saying is we can't afford to bury our heads in the sand until the summer. We need to strenthen significantly now or relegation is a real possibility. The club came up with a ludicrous excuse for why the Prince did not come on board in time for the last transfer window - and there's little sign of it acting in this one either. And as for the FFP rules, other clubs with much lower crowds and turnover than us seem to be able to get around them easily enough.

No, 14th would constitute an excellent achievement, however, you can't on the one hand extrapolate your chosen results to prove your point, then on the other when it goes awry start pointing to form tables and harping on about "no divine right to win games" or somesuch.

I'll settle for 20th at the moment

We have no reason to be positive?

'Feelings' are that we now have a better manager, we have better players coming in than we have going out, we have great optimism for the summer when the proper business can be done, we have a manager who wants to get at least a dozen players out of the club (and can't do it all straight away) and so on.

Facts are (last 11 games);

W, D, D, W, W, D, D, W, L, W, L

I'd say that's not bad for a third division club that's changed managers at will for the past few years that has, in the main, a bunch of overpaid and 'over contracted' players that no one else will take off of our hands. Trust the people in charge and see where we are / judge this time next year.
