I'm taking a spade with me. Want a souvenir from inside the six-yard box.

Anyone got a bungee rope spare, I'm on the BL upper...
Me too, i've invited my girlfriends Brother in law and his boys over from Haydock for this one as i'd promised them all season that we'd go to a game. Just fortunate that we've not been able to find the time before now. Chesterfield at home for the the last game in a promotion season, in the BLUT Corner, its the only part of the ground i've not been in (apart from the boxes).

The lads are both Liverpool fans and their Dad is a Man United fan, but I think the boys will see that life outside the Premier League is not so bad!

Can't bloody wait!

A pitch invasion would indeed be a self entitled contrivance in these circumstances. It can't be a spontaneous outpouring because we're bloody miles ahead of third place and have been for ages.

Win a tight contest in a do-or-die match with a nervy last few minutes, and I'd see it very differently.

Only time I've been on the pitch is the Leeds game and that was just a rush of blood to the head

Why have a pitch invasion? Surely it would be better for everyone to stay in the stands so everyone can appreciate a lap of honour
After the final whistle obviously, saw them collect the 4th division trophy on the pitch why not the 3rd

Because not everyone will get to see. The players could walk around the pitch with the trophy. I don't get why people would want to his go on the pitch and spoil things for other fans. It is not as if it would be a spontaneous invasion is it ?

There was a big pitch invasion on 1/5/71 too

Also one at Woody's testimonial (because I went on) and 8/5/1979, but that one ended up with a Leicester player getting chinned.

These days, stay off the Desso. It cost too much.

pommpey

Hope we don't find out, clubs clearly against fans running on to the pitch, anyone who does is a complete twat end off, it will delay things a dampen the mood.

Apologies for reviving this thread :)

Do blades of Desso freeze at 0 degrees centigrade ? Forecast suggests freezing from 5pm tomorrow.*

*poster accepts no responsibility for raising of blood pressure levels in the Portsmouth area, or anywhere else.

I'd be surprised if they freeze at all in normal temperatures but isn't our pitch heated anyway?

Anyway, it's winter so get ready for posts every week about games being called off and complaints about the council not clearing snow, the health and safety officer being a twat and the usual 'why can't we do what they do in Sweden/Canada/Russia etc.'

Busy time for the doomsayers BB. Transfer window, weather, accounts due. Only so much time in a day you know, coupled with a drop in form and several shite players, Christmas will just be an unwanted distraction for some.

It's going to be cold with some snow tomorrow so could the game get called off? If it is It's probably because the Council can't be bothered to clear the snow and the health and safety officer is a twat.

I can tell thi that this wouldn't happen if we lived in Sweden/Canada/Russia etc. Ok;)

Things have changed somewhat since my first recollection of snowy BL. Radio Sheffield broadcasting a request from the club 11.00 am for volunteers to come and clear the pitch of snow which left a nice frosty surface to play on with a nice bright orange ball and line marking in blue. Piles of snow on the cricket side and players slipping and sliding on the new fangled rubber studded boots. Still seemed to get good crowds. No mention of Health and Safety then. How have I survived to my advancing years?

The only way it will be off is if there is a foot of snow on the surrounding streets and that isn’t coming while Sunday.

BushBlade arent sweden canada & russia all summer seasons. because its too cold to play during their winter
Probably but because they have severe weather every year they have to invest heavily in things like huge snowploughs etc so they don't often have the problems we have once every ten years when we have a really heavy winter and trains, buses etc are cancelled and chaos ensues.

Whenever that happens people always say 'they have ten foot of snow in .... and they can get to work, why does the UK fall apart when we get more than three inches of snow?' without considering how much it would cost to have all the equipment the other country has sat idle for most years when the worst we get is sleety drizzle.

Was it Scunny (?) at home a few days after xmas day 2014 (?) that got postponed? possibly our last home match to have been postponed due to the weather? It was that year that it suddenly went Siberian on boxing day...
