Ampadu the dream but Lenihan or similar would be a very clever signing.
 
Not played much has he for a whiz kid. Is he competion for Basham/JOC/Egan?
 
Tbh I think he would expect 1st team footy, who would we drop to become his understudy?
 
Serious question - I keep hearing how people would be delighted with this Ampadu on loan but is he actually any good?? Yes, appreciate he's supposedly one of these Chelsea 'starlets' but we all know that some of these 'young guns' never quite make it as they're not actually that good or consistent enough. Think we'd be better off going for a Championship defender or someone with a couple more years experience and consistency behind them perhaps (unless we're buying and then any young lad is potentially a 'project' then I guess?).

I don't see either being a bit part for different reasons.
 
Surely we'll try and negotiate a loan with an option to buy. Effectively a deferred purchase we can get out of if it doesn't work out and leaves more of the money we do have this window for other targets.

Would love to see us go for Chambers. Never seen Ampadu, but from what I've read I would be happy with him too.

Chambers would be out of our wage structure by some margin so can't see a loan to buy with him, Ampadu possibly.

It’s about survival first and foremost.

That’s the game we are in. I don’t care what a player’s longer terms ambitions are. A bit like with Henderson. If he helps us stay the course this season then fair enough. That gets us to a better place. There’s no loyalty to worry about. Just fill the squad with players who can keep us where we are.

Yes he's absolute class....but not really a defender though??!! He played centre half for Wales the other night but his previous caps (and at Chelsea) he's been more of a deep lying midfielder (he hasn't had that much game time at RB Leipzig).

I'd bloody love us to get him but he'd more be competing with Norwood as far as I can make out. I reckon the defender target'll be someone else unless Chris Wilder sees him covering both positions for us

Chelsea aren’t in my view remotely likely to agree to that. He’s not someone they’re looking to move on any time soon. They’re certainly looking to develop him though, which is why we might be in with a shot at a loan.
 
Callum Chambers is fucking crap. Realistically, Ampadu isn't going to get a look in at Chelski due to the fact that Fat Frank is having to spend millions so he can pretend to be an half decent manager. Ampadu on a loan with option to buy please, ala Retsos. Turn him into a world beater and buy him for a snippet. Let me emphasise again. Callum Chambers is wank

Makes sense as wilder said the incoming CH can also play in midfield
 
could see him playing the Bash role, right footed and plays further up the field, remember Bash was a midfielder too!
