Don't know Mr Sinclair personally but what I do know is that hes a big blade supporter who loves the club, and like you have said. Go to an away ground and hear there announcer talk, there normally as flat as a pancake. Maybe some people are just jealous, I don't know. He seems good to me!

Totally agree. Me and the missus always have a good laugh at the dreadful mic announcers in other grounds.

Gary Sinclair is a cut above all of them, except maybe for Premier club announcers, and it is years since we were in that league, so I honestly can't remember if they were any good.

I think Sinclair is excellent personally. He's one of the best we've had down there in the 50 years or so I've been watching. As someone has said, the last stand-in we had for him wasn't great! Totally out of touch with the feeling of the fans, no passion, felt like he was reading everything he said. I wonder who we will get today instead?

How about a female announcer for a change? That would be good wouldn't it? Preferably a good looking one? How about Jessica Ennis? I reckon she'd do just nicely?

On the whole, he’s alright and as others have pointed out, he’s a million times better than most announcers around the country probably because he actually has a personality. He started getting on my nerves a few years ago with his constant plugging of Maggie Mays but seems to have reigned that in (maybe someone had a word?). He does love a name drop though and clearly enjoys his own voice.

Regarding the replacement; as a one off once or twice a year, I always found him a bit of a comedy guilty pleasure.
