Like most who post on here regularly I've known more lows than highs following the Blades. So when we're confronted with a small winning streak it's refreshing to see the general mood of the forum lift. Of course there are disagreements that can move from the mild exchange of ideas right through to the overly demonstrative in their views, but overall I've noticed a feel-good vibe that's centred on the next game against Peterborough. I don't think anyone's gone overboard, but it's lovely to have a feeling of optimism about the place.
Small seeds and all that, and yes, we've been down this path too many times to get carried away, but there does seem to be a connection between the current management and the supporters that I can't recall for a decade or more. Isn't that central to any club that's on the up?
Don't think I'm becoming some kind of flag waver that's suddenly bought into a new Blades philosophy of optimism. We're where we are for a reason. Poor management and the purchasing of (generally) mediocre players hasn't exactly set this place alight in the past, but now there does seem to be something in the air that suggests we're in capable hands. Like most things, time will tell.
I'm still wary and cautious, but I'm also enjoying what's happening around the club. If we lose against Peterborough yet give our all then I doubt we'll here too many complaints. There'll be disappointments of course, but we'll move onto the next game knowing our players and management will do their best for themselves, the supporters, and the club.
