The Blades are going up

It's 2 from 4 for me and I can't see past Norwich and west Brom who seem to be peaking at the right time
I just hope some of you aren't too disappointed if we "only " make the play offs
We've got the same points in the last 6 as wba, won our last 2 games and threw away 2 points against villa. January signings look good.
Maybe we are 'peaking' as well.

In the past I’d have already regretted this before I’d posted it. And the superstitious bones of me are insisting that I make full body contact with wood while even thinking it. But there’s been a feeling around the club for a few weeks now, since we turned around our pre-Christmas slump, that is so reminiscent of 2016/17 in Lg 1. And now I’m starting to believe it.

Our result today places enormous pressure on Dirty Leeds. They are fragile and flawed. Apart from a horrible 10 mins v Villa, we look resolute and purposeful in comparison.

Fuck me, the Blades are going up

Leeds play Bolton, QPR and WBA within 6 days... Sat, Tues, Fri

Agree, it does have similarities to the league 1 campaign where I’ve thought it’s like playing an FA cup tie against lower league opposition.

Away at Villa for long spells we made them look stupidly inadequate
Today against Reading it almost seemed too easy, we didn’t need to get out of 2nd gear.

Also normally I’d feel a bit scared/ nervous going away to West Brom, Sheff Wed and Leeds, but now I’m almost looking forward to these matches because I know we will put in a good display and have decent spells of domination. We will create chances, the result depends on how many chances we tuck away.

I think us and Norwich are the 2 best teams in this league. West Brom have big potential but are too inconsistent. Leeds can be strong but rely (more than us) on high tempo pressing/ workrate and I suspect they’ll tire and run out of steam.

Being a Leeds fan you may think I’m biased but I have to disagree with idea that will tire. The fact is since the end of August we’ve had pushing 50 injuries to our players missing long periods for example bamford, brown, ayling, Douglas, beradi Dallas forshaw all missing months of the season hence the reason we’ve given 9 players under the age of 20 first team debuts. Whilst still being in the top 2 for most of the season. We’re finally down to 1/2 players out now the other due back shortly so our players won’t be tired. But whilst we’ve had these injuries we’ve virtually dominated every game this season. As it stands it’s in our hands. But your now in 2nd & as with the title of this thread, you’re starting to believe it’s your year but this will also add to the frustration if a game isn’t going your way & the players will feel it too.

If I’m honest I want a repeat of the 89/90 season where Liverpool win the league & therefore Leeds are promoted with sheff united.

Anyway good luck

I’d take top 2 with you lot. You’ll get some stick for posting on here but good on you. Would like you opinion on the fact you’ve not dont very well since ‘Spygate’.

Wilder knows why we fell away last year and he’s made every provision to see it won’t happen again.
I predict a very strong finish to the season for the Blades.
The best is yet to come.

My Leeds high energy game, therefore run out of energy theory is probably more about wishful thinking.
You’ve gained loads of points from last minute goals and you wouldn’t expect this to keep happening.
Anyway I’d be fine with a repeat of the 1990 season, don’t mind finishing 2nd if it means promotion.

One important point which is very different from any previous season before is that when we play West Brom and Leeds away the players and fans will have no fear. We kind of know we’ll be positive and have spells of domination. Everyone raves about Norwich but we recently dominated them in 2nd half with Farke and the NC fans happy with a home draw against us.

Really looking forward to the Sky games, away to West Brom, away to Wednesday and away to Leeds.

We haven’t not played well since spygate it’s more the fact that teams set up not to win they set up for a point & if they’re lucky nick a win.

Teams know if they come out to play leaving gaps we’ll beat them so they’ve let us have the ball & basically camped 2 banks of 4 on the 18 yard box making it hard to play around their box meaning out wide is our best means of scoring similar how city play with sterling & zane getting to the by line looking for cut backs. We’ve had the ball just not taken our chances. For example Norwich in the first half in my opinion we were the better team Norwich couldn’t get out of their half for a good 10/15 minutes but the had 2 chances from lucky breaks especially the 2nd goal & go in 2-0 up. The 2nd half was our worst half this season admittedly. Simarily to where you battered Wednesday at Bramall lane the ball just hasn’t bounced our way.

But in general with dominated just as much as we were in the first half of the season. We don’t & haven’t changed the way we play & now bamford is back he is getting sharper & offering us something different specifically height which should help us when teams force us to play out wide.

Really hope so.

Certainly have a great chance ! The Villa game has been put to bed now, no signs it has affected the players. We’re able to change the team and produce solid performances.

4 teams going for 2 positions, will certainly be a tense end to the season. Unfortunately, we have a horrible set of fixtures between now and the end of March but at least you can guarantee (generally) that we will turn up for every one of them and put in a performance to try and win every game.
