Fitness coach set for Bramall Lane

Palace fitness coach Carl Serrant has left Selhurst Park to join Neil Warnock's former club Sheffield United.

The former Newcastle United defender, whose playing career was cut short due to injury, joined the club soon after Warnock took over as SE25 chief after Peter Taylor was sacked.

Serrant was seen as an integral member of Warnock's backroom staff, but the opportunity for a move back up North was too much for the Eagles coach to resist.

Speaking to the Advertiser, Warnock confirmed Serrant's departure and said he hoped to have a replacement in before the end of next week.

He told the Advertiser: "I can confirm that Carl has left the club and will join Sheffield United. "I hope to have a new fitness coach in place very soon."

I take it from that we weren't able to keep hold of Riddle then...

I recall something specifically mentioning Riddle not so long back... not 100% sure on it though.

Perhaps we want more than one rated fitness guy :)

oh no.... i remember now....

Blackwell wanted riddle to be a head fitness coach and teach others and send them to chendu etc..... sure it was that.

Riddle is staying as "Performance Manager of Sports Science and Conditioning", essentially the boss of the "Fitness" team as it were :)

Serrant will be used as a "Strength Conditioning Coach".
