Yea Wizadry he has royally fucked us with his so called footballing choices...I give you Mr Adams as final proof of that. I also accept that during tough financial years, with the economy in a downward spiral, some of his expenses where "offset" using finances only afforded to him via his connection with the club. Not many can afford losing millions of pounds every year supporting their love of football. Thankfully, for me, he didn't cave under the mountain of pressure and leave it well enough alone. He stood up for the club and football. That I respect. My bad.. :/

This was my initial point of view Pinchy. However, after these events, the list of "unfortunate" happenings effecting the club, in my eye's, does indeed smack of some level of conspiracy. The FA has its favorites, it shouldn't, but we all know it does. Does this stop them from messing with certain clubs they have a problem with ? I would guess not. Human nature n all that...

Moving forward, I can see and respect what Woodfordfan is getting at. We know the club acted in the best interests of itself and football, as such the fans will continue to support in large numbers. This is truly the best answer to anyone that feels they can bring the club down. I don't like doing this too much, but for this I thank McCabe... Crazy I know. :/

I understand your cynicism. I speak only of the original tribunal decision to fine WHU rather than deduct points. What I say about that is accurate information, not opinion. :)

McCabe pursued WH relentlessly, to his great credit.

As Richard Keys might say ...

Small little paper , fuck off

Thats the point, we got £25 million and the parachute payments and pissed it up a hotel wall.

If you handed any other club that amount of money, you would see them fly up the league.

we did also sell our best striker and not replace him, something we have been brilliant at for years

All we were left with at the end of the day was vindication, knowing we were right and had been seen to be right.

Agree fully that we were vindicated but it amazes me how many neutral fans of other clubs (as an exile I mix with many) still perceive West Ham to be the victim in this while we are the 'moaning set of whingers' who dragged football through the courts.

That winds me up more than anything, the way much of the West Ham friendly media reported and commented on the incident helped form this opinion, and still it persists as per the metro article.

One forgotten part of the argument is that there was 3 other clubs involved in the whole relegation battle, Charlton, Fulham and Wigan. With Charlton it was slightly more irrelevent, but could almost guarantee that Dave Whelan or Mohammed Al-Fayed would have gone down the same path that Kevin McCabe did!

There was no agenda. The original tribunal genuinely believed that WH were doomed and that a points deduction would be no punishment at all. It was a bad error but no conspiracy.

They failed to factor in our abject collapse in the latter part of the season; Warnock's conclusive demonstration that he was out of his depth at the highest level and Jagielka's newfound affection for volleyball.

Had the tribunal known what was to unfold, the judgement would have been very different.

Yes, they'd have deducted them one point.
