Must have been a big disappointment for you all today. None of our "fans" booing the team on. None of our "so called" supporters climbing into Hendo by 3.02. And what about the "Blades" clapping the team off at the end?

What are you all going to do with your fingers tonight now you have to find somewhere else to point them?

I always applaud the team off when we`ve lost & conceded 4 goals at home with defending my dead grannie could`ve done better at.

But under this Blackwell chappie at the moment, i guess honourable losses are to be celebrated. Injuries less of an excuse now, more a case of very poor/average quality cover brought in by by shit management.

The irony of you getting at a set of fans for getting at another set of fans doesn't escape me in this post ;)

Biter bit??

Completely missed the point of the post last night. Didn't think i had that much to drink either....

But I do agree with the general gist of the post... it was a supportive atmosphere yesterday and it was refreshing to see. I'd also prefer to see people voting with their feet, as they did yesterday after Cardiff's fourth, than staying and booing. If you don't want to be there, don't be there.

I don't think anyone was blaming the fans who were getting at the players for the lack of form, but pointing out that it hardly builds their confidence. Which whether you agree with their "right" to do it or not, is a fair point.

I went at about 90 minutes as i was a bit annoyed with the defeat, and our defensive frailities but i thought it was a much improved performance and the midfield got the ball down and at times attempted to play football.

On the plus side i thought the support was sensible, and didn't get on the top of the team as much as i thought they could have

Thought you had, but thanks for the thanks......:kissass:

:D

I think the lack of booing was indicative of something much more dangerous for SUFC - increasing disillusion and apathy.
The sense of no-one really caring about the result or believing in the team, manager or club was palpable for me.
That sets in when you're lacking leadership.

Can I ask which parts you felt were worthy of booing?

The comical defending but that isn't really the point.
There was little of anything - cheering, booing, singing, anything.
There was a sense of us going nowhere.

And booing the comical defending that everyone in the stadium, players included, knew was comical and had let them down would achieve what?

I think they'll have known full well that we weren't happy with the defending without the need to vocally batter them.

It kind of is the point, given that you think a lack of booing is "indicative of something much more dangerous".

It wouldn't achieve anything. No-one booed and no-one really cared. I chuckled at the comedy of it.
But as I said, the point is that fans are caring less and less as they believe less and less in what the club/manager is saying/doing.

Is that why they appealed so long and hard for an offside for the first goal? I can only imagine that was embarrassment.

This one could be a bit too deep for me. I have spent a good deal of time recently at the games booing; being, to all intents and purposes, most obnoxious to the team management and ranting to anyone (whether they wanted to listen or not). However, yesterday I remained cool, calm and on the whole content with the overall effort if not the end product. Are you now telling me that this sudden state of karma is really the onset of disillusion and apathy. And even worse that I no longer care about the result(s) or believe in the team.

As a committed Blade it is important to me that I do only what is good for the Club so I need to know did I get it wrong yesterday. Should I have been my usual demonstrative self, should I have booed on every breath out, when Quinn's goal was disallowed should I have cheered to the rafters, in fact f--k it should I have not gone!?

You are entitled to think what you like and so am I; and I think that your thinking is bollox!

You're free to think as you like.
For me, the complete lack of atmosphere was indicative of a lack of belief throughout the club.

I don't think anyone had a clue what he was on about from post 1.

Walking to the ground yesterday there was no buzz at all and a real sense of apathy same during the game, people disinterested.

So I think Lenners has a point.

I was buzzing, Had a couple of beers with the lads, a good laugh at the police outside Sportsman and away end with the pathetic pole support things for the cameras and in general just happy to be going to BDTBL.

Considering recent events on the pitch, I thought it was OK. There were even a few songs from H block in first half and that is rare.

I put the lack of booing down to the fact that we actually played some passing football - We were appalling at the back, but I thought the rest of the performance showed a real improvement.

The atmosphere at our part of the ground wasn't bad (for a change!) - the key bit being that for once, those of us who wanted to actually support the team didn't feel intimidated into silence. Perhaps that was the extra pint at the Lion before kick-off :)

Aye! Good old JWS Esq ;)

The only nobhead part was the reaction within 20 seconds of going 3-2 down of "Blackwell sort it out", which was short lived and met with some derision.

To be perfectly honest though, before I actually got a chance to get across and sit with my daughter and you lot, we were all thoroughly bored for the first half an hour or so, save for the 'offside' goal (still not seen it on the box, but it looked harsh to me). Strange, seeing as for that period of time I thought we were the better of two pretty mediocre sides.

Still, another day ..... another beer ..... except not in a pub because of the sodding buses .....

I agree with the apathy theory, walking back to the boozer I overheard one group of about 5 or 6 lads talking about the evenings forthcoming x-factor show and then bizarrely another set talking about strictly come dancing. Jesus that was a depressing walk.

I think this was a game when, after the recent results and playing a side near the top, no-one actually expected us to win and so the frustration/anger at some of the other results wasn't there.

Having not been to the 2-3 previous games I was expecting the worst in terms of both performance and how it would be in the ground, while in fact (some of the defending aside) we didn't play that badly and more of the crowd was supportive than otherwise. Maybe I'll be back for Newcastle after all. ;)

i was just pissed off with myself really, just went out to have a smoke then i saw cardiffs goal being allowed which it should have been anyways, then i thought fuck it i need a drink and missed the other 3 goals which meant i had to stay up and watch them other the football league show or what ever you call it
