Have some good memories of reading this in Flashing Blades as well as 'Days That Shook The Lane'

Other day a bloke at work said only thing he recalled about the Blades is that we made News At Ten once for hitting a linesman !!!!

What other incidents can you recall down the years on and off the pitch where we have made the front or back pages for the wrong reasons?

Coming back from Carlisle when some Blades stopped off at Leeds.

And coming back from Coventry one season when coaches and a minibus full of Blades stopped off at Derby.

Portsmouth away 1998 - the linesman incident. Was working away in Portsmouth at the time and was at the game, didn't think we were going to get out alive !

That made the national news when a Blade spat at former England manager Graham Taylor when we played Wolves at the Lane, 94/95 season I think it was. I was stood next to the bloke who spat at him, I thought Taylor had gone mad. He'd spent ages arguing the toss with Blades fans around the South Stand tunnel at the end of the game, then suddenly started clutching his face, before leaping into the South Stand to try to make a citizens arrest. I have to say I hadn't realised someone had spat at him. There was plenty of jostling around Taylor as the guilty Blade slipped away.

The nautical flare that got fired into the Pig end in 2003.

The one that missed the L**ds fans in 2002.

Battle of Bramall Lane

Which one? There was an almighty scrap on the kop in 1968 (against Citeh I think) and there was a photo in the Sunday People with a fan being led out with a dart stuck in his nose. The caption to the photo was "Battle of Bramall Lane".

It must be a generational thing!

On MOTD when it's all about the Premier League Des Lynam reported an incident of someone getting on the away team coach at Bramall Lane looking for Gareth Ainsworth.

Don't think he was looking for an autograph.

Equating incidents from the 30's and 40's about blokes on the kop pissing down blokes legs and bringing them into my era some bleeding heart getting precious about it. :)

April 1st 1967. A friend of mine (1951-2000) told me he watched the match from the John Street Terraces. We were awarded a corner at the Kop End just before half time. Woody took it and Mick Jones rose to head us into the lead and the Blades fans were in raptures but not long after there were the worst fighting my friend had ever seen. Police and St John volunteers were very busy for the rest of the game as many spectators were injured

Bag of acid chucked at a pig fan in a testimonial (Hodgy's?).

Have to break it into Chapters really..

In ground (home)
In ground (away)
Outside ground (outside Sheffield)
Outside ground (West St)
Outside ground (London Rd)
'Playing' with the Pigs (anywhere)
Sauce throwing and air conditioner wrecking...

Were you thinking of the below photo? If so, it was Liverpool v Man Utd at Anfield
