memories of Arsenal, let’s not offer them a replay....

Their keeper got a yellow for complaining about it too.

Was watching the stream but looked away and didnt see what happened. Reading fans booing sharp so assumed something had happened.

They claimed that they had kicked the ball out but it looked to me like it just went under his foot. Fleck took the short ball and put it straight into Billy’s path.

They were passing it into touch with shit passes all night. I just thought it was SNAFU and I'm sure our players did as well.

They definitely put it out for the ‘injured’ player to receive treatment but then that player didn’t go back down to receive said treatment. I’d be placing the blame on the guy who had the knock for not being smarter if I was a Reading fan.

I thought it was a misplaced pass at the time. The player was on his feet anyway wasn't he?

Anyone else think the pen was a bit soft? He definitely played for it. A bit poor from Moore for the goal (not to excuse the defenders being second to react either) but redeemed himself with the penalty save.

It wasn't a misplaced pass, he deliberately let it go out...however their 'injured' player never went down. We took the throw in , kept the ball and scored. Their fans were going ballistic.

Great for us but if it had happened the other way round we would have reacted in the same way as they did.

Their number 4 spent the rest of the game trying to do Billy and there was plenty of afters going on that neither the ref or lino spotted.

If it was the other way round, Wilder would be kicking the shit out of 'pretend injury' player.

We don't do that crap.

Disagree. I thought their player just took his eye off the ball. He then played the "I let it go out" card when he realised his error/incompetence/crapness, take year pick.

Normally the ref tells the team to throw it to the opposition if he thinks they put it out for an injured player. Obviously he didn't so fuck 'em.
It’s not up to a side to decide to kick the ball out if a player is down (probably feigning). You can tell from how the ref sets off to follow the ball that he’s given a throw to us. Fuck em.

Listening to Stam on local radio while travelling back he said something to the effect of he could understand why we did what we did cos their player didn't go down and stay down. Couldn't see much wrong or unfair from where I was standing. Still can't get over that sitter we missed in the first few minutes, was harder to miss.

why did he not put it out where he was just outside he box , it went out around he half way line ,
didnt look anything like a putting the ball out for an injury to get it back was cleared 30 yards or so
with no player on the floor

was hardly in a dangerous position , if they go to sleep its their fault

With how they acted at the Lane earlier in the season and the questionable penalty then I am quite happy with how we got the 3rd goal.

I thought at the time he was letting it run out but he didn't make it that clear what he was doing. He could've taken a touch and then put it out himself given there was no one near him. And since they didn't actually have a player down, it seemed more like their player had completely misread the situation and cocked it up.

And, most importantly, unlike the Arsenal goal, there was no indication that we were going to give it back, we weren't in a dangerous position, and they had plenty of time to react.

Finally after 19yrs we got the benefit. But blaming sharp for their loss is like wilshere blaming the ref for losing the league cup final

Had a quick look on their forum (pre-weirdo) and in all fairness, a lot of them are saying there was nothing wrong with the goal.

Sheff Utd did nothing wrong for that 3rd.

I'd have been livid if we'd given the ball back to another team after one of their players stupidly let the ball roll out of play after their player had already got up. It was obvious the ball wasn't going to come back

+1

the absolute bedwetting by our fans was embarrassing and rightly called out by their fans.

Oh and the 3rd goal.......that was all on our stupidity, Sheff Utd did absolutely nothing wrong.

Yep houso. I think their fans were more concerned about their abject display. Got to be one if the worst displays by a home team I have ever seen. Their one shining light was the small lad ( looked about 14) who ran the game for the first 15 mins of the second half and single handedly nearly brought them back to 2-2.
