Things seem to be going o.k. midfield and up front at the moment BUT the defence needs a lot of work, no clean sheet as yet (don`t include the nonentity cup). Fingers crossed we can hold out for the points

Could start by stopping conceding silly, needless free kicks, then switching on when those free kicks are taken. Sounds like we were by far the better team today, but sat biting our nails towards the end. Having said that well done to the lads for the result & performance.

Will you just get with the programme .

MIDFIELD MAESTRO . Thats what we lack .

Apparently the defence all did well today and we were unlucky to concede two.

Ebanks-Landell in particular was praised by Edwards, he said he won every header and got good distance on them - exactly what I was questioning with him - so that's pleasing.

Maybe, just maybe they need a few games together to work each other out, we win again... So they played better than the opposition defence, I'll have that every week..

wasn`t having a big dig, just saying there is room for a large slice of improvement. And yes happy about the win, I`m sure Wilder will sort it.

We seem to be improving every game but we must stop giving sloppy free kicks / goals away, we will not get away with it against the better teams.

Playing this style of football means we're always going to look like shipping goals. Play the ball / moving forwards quickly will leave you exposed at the back sometimes. I personally don't mind that so long as the front guys are hitting the target, it beats sideways and backwards right?

Without being harsh I think we are suffering because wright (although he hasn't been bad) isn't exactly steeped in history at this level and I think was here for back up. And the likes of O'Connell and EEL could do with some real experience with them. As someone else mentioned you stick a 30 year old Chris Morgan along side these lads, and I don't think we'd be conceding as many sloppy goals.

Still its early days and there still room for improved communication and partnerships

crikey - did you see the defence in pre-season and the first few games?

The defence does need some work - as indicated by the close result today, but it is infinitely better than what started.

It's interesting to see that the only one worth keeping out of the original back 5, O'Connell, is the only one still playing in the team.

That original defence was rubbish - is now much better and with work can get better - at least we have a platformto move forward now.
