Despite the injuries we should have had too much for Stoke today. Be honest, they were fucking woeful. At home, playing for a nil nil and we rolled over and gifted them three points with a defensive howler. Bad enough losing to good teams but today we came up against a really poor side and came away with a 35 year old Jags not breaking sweat and a very dodgy keeper not having to make a save.

We couldn't have got that game much more wrong, tactics were shite, pretty much every player was shite and fuck me, what an opportunity wasted. I hope that's our last wake up call but I don't think these fuckers have the backbone to fight their way back when they're up against it.

I think Jags is 38

I couldn't get today as I'm stupid, couldn't even listen in, but was it really that bad?

We should have at least collected a point in a game like this. They missed some decent chances in a decent period for them.

One decent one fell for Jebbo but he wanted an age to get it out of his feet. Falls to Billy and there picking the ball out.

Why break the season up for international friendlies, fuckin pointless.

Just got back and on reflection that was a woeful performance against a poor side.
No fight, less skill and players just not up for it. 90 minutes of tepid uninspiring football, play offs are a pipe dream with this team.
Berge looked totally disinterested
Baldock really fucking poor
Jebbo can see why he has been left on the bench
Can think of one positive, great away following but given fuck all to shout about.
Like Hecky but by Christ he was piss poor today.
Future looks bleak Blades

The injuries excuse is as bad as the "they're tired" excuse from before the break. We looked fucked today. Work that one out

Its because when its the International Break they get to stop up later as its not a school night.

1 shot on target!
MGW had a couple of half chances. There were a couple of penalty shouts - thought Baldock could have stayed on his feet and crossed it instead of going over. Although after seeing his cross at the end 😱…. RND one looked a better shout to me. Saying all of that, we were poor.
Highlight of the game - seeing Fleck giggling like a kid when the ref got one in the face and fell like a sack of spuds 😆.

That's the problem in October the prediction/hope was survival/don't get relegated. Then it was a chance of playoffs with odd dilusion of catching top 2 now it's back to the good old blades negative. On a personal note finishing top half with the amount of games we have had to play since the New Year is an achievement

No, it isn’t an achievement. This squad should be good enough, to get into the play offs.
if you aim low, you will always achieve your goal. What’s your ambition for next season, avoiding relegation to league 1?

Trouble is generally we're an average side with average players apart from some that aren't ours and sometimes are capable of putting a decent team performance in but not on a regular basis.

We’ve been a bit shit for about 8 games now. Performances have been very lack-lustre

Think we've got one of the strongest squads in the division. It's only going one way next season...

This is how it is we are a top end Championship club no way can we go back to the Premiership with this squad or this management team.
So my friends let’s just enjoy whats left of this season have a few sherbets along the way and see what happens in the summer

Almost as bad as some of the overreactions on this forum.

Yep today was bad, but can anyone remember how we started this season? At that point our squad was stronger yet we were dismal and devoid of any ideas.

Did anyone think we’d be talking playoffs at that point?

I'm just worried weve totally burnt out.
Dont think the midfield showed up today, we were lacking up top and MGW sempt to just give up after a decent start, Davies was the wrong choice on the right today, Gordon wouldve been a better option in my eyes.
Hourihan or Ozzy shouldve come on earlier.
Berge doesnt look interested at all.
I'm just hoping we havent just given up and decided to settle for the Championship next season!, dont get me wrong, I'm happy for us to be in the championship next season, I actually prefer the game without VAR, because its shit!, but to be in with a chance, we should be fighting hard to finish as high as possible, unfortunately, after todays game, I think the fight has gone??.

First half was scrappy. Nothing happened really. We game the balls away a couple of times and they broke. We had a couple of dangerous throws. Ref got hit in the face and knocked over from a rebound.

Second half was dogshit. We played like I play football. Slow, looking like we've been out to the Leadmill until 3am and then been to Chubby's. They were still pretty poor but more up for it.

It's always strange after an international break. Either really good or really shit.

Hecky said mgw was ill last night

It was like Blackburn away, but with rubbish finishing from Stoke, and no goal from us.

Which is to say: we give ball away in midfield, they break quite fast and ping it across our box and/or have an attempt on goal, rinse and repeat for most of the game.

Lethargic, uncommitted, unimaginative, more than a bit brainless at times, woke up for ten minutes after the goal (far too late), final whistle, the end. Slavball in all but name.

Playing like that away from home, as has now become a habit, I’m afraid we don’t deserve to get to the play-offs.

And I’m glad that’s me done now, away from home, for the season. I had more entertainment, and better value for money, queuing to get out of the car park.

WTF was that! - you wouldn't believe we were in with a chance of the play offs would you? (especially in the knowledge Forest had just won 4-1 away at Blackpool)..............probably the most lack lusture/couldn't give a fuck performance since the Adkins days.
If I didn't know better (which I don't btw) - you would have thought today the instructions were..............we don't want the play offs/premiership - we aren't ready??
God knows what they do in the week, but conditioning (Fleck/Baldock/Berge/Norwood all looked fucked) crossing (....don't get me started on this one - but Georgios Baldockis FFS - you take this to such a shit level!). I'll bet you any money Ben Davies isn't fit for Tuesday - good player & probably decent lad.........but sick note!.
The 'only' positive' I can take out of today personally was that lad who came on - Osula.............RND was decent for me too, and it looked like a stone wall penalty @ 0-0-?

Better players(who cost money) play better consistently.
Generally yeh. We just seemed to have assembled a team of grafters that lack much ability in my opinion at the expense of an absolute fortune. Look at blackburn for example - their squad is always full of players with ability and flair and done on a lot less.

Agreed the squad as a whole on paper should be good enough for the playoffs. However when you factor in injuries and players out of position currently and based on the start of the season I would have been more than happy with top half in when reviewing in October. It will be difficult again next season as will have 3 other decent sides joining the Championship and it will get that bit harder. I would prefer to be a stable championship team on the odd cup run near to the playoffs/with a chance of rather than a twist your arm and go bust type of team. Next season aims is simple do better than we have this season
