That pass..

Enda deserves a lot of credit for that dinked pass, too. His fourth assist of the season.

Could be wrong, but i think that was a mishit. I think he was trying to flick it over the full back again, but overcooked it, and luckily for us Billy was in the right place.

Edit: watched it a few time again, and the above is wrong.

The ball to Clarke wasn’t too bad either setting up the 3rd.

And special mention to Clarke also for a delicious cross / assist :)

For me this was the best move and the ball to Leon was simply lovely.
The ball that Leon then played to Billy, had me needing new pants.

That 3rd goal was as good as you will see at any level. Sublime one touch football which ripped them to pieces

Kev Gage said on the comms that he was about to have a go at Leon because he didn't think that he was good enough to play that ball, but quickly retracted/ clarified what he meant. Basically to play a ball like that for Billy took some quality.

Gage is no dummy ;)

Agreed. He also deserves huge credit for him returning to the form he had when he first came to us, in the last few months. I think Wilder bringing Marvin Johnson in has helped to make this happen.

That and he's got a controlling midfield behind him, he was never super pacey so now he has some proper balls to run onto he can finally get some crosses in, rather than having to try and get past defenders or just pass backwards.

I initially thought that may or not have been the case. Hower, like yourself, I have come to the same conclusion after watching it back after the game.

Both second half goals were excellent team goals.

Norwood's hit that pass into a dangerous area with a great technique and it's worked out well.

This is the best Stevens has played for us. He's surpassed last season's early form IMO. He's shown a lot of mental resolve to come back and get to this level, now it's a case of maintaining it into the second half of the season.

The finish took some quality too

A quality goal from a quality team :)

It's strange that we seemed much better in the stoke game, but were bemoaning our lack of clinical finishing, where as yesterday, we didn't "tick" right, but we were clinical.

Goldie is not the long term answer to Duffy being unable to play. Woodburn doesn't seem to be cutting it.

Maybe john fleck who drinks irn bru further forward with Norwood n coutts behind?

That pass from Norwood deserves it own thread. Worthy of Scholes or Xavi in their pomp. Spin on it completely fooled their right back, but not our Enda. Majestic stuff

Don't know about their right back but it fools me just looking at the tv replay.....looks dead cert to go beyond their defender but then drops behind him for Enda to take....so only two words from me.....pure magic.

When Olli hit the pass I thought WTF then the curve took effect, it was intended, it was spot on and it was class.
It wasn't the curve effect it was the south stand all breathing in at the same time and sucking the oxygen out of the ground....:D

Other teams have done it for short spells, but either of Wigan's forwards seemed delegated to pick up Norwood as our defence went forward. Basically stop Norwood getting the ball in positions where he could do real damage. I just had a vision after those two goals of Paul Cook saying to those forwards "See - that's what happens when you take your eye off him". Two passes of real beauty - I was really impressed with the first inch-speed-perfect pass to Leon - then the next one came in , totally sublime.
