Don’t know if some of the team were intent on impressing Wilder or whether they wanted to prove a point but, either way, he definitely inspired them. The work rate was incredible, particularly coming on the back of the Forest game and its late disappointment.

More of the same for the rest of the season please!!

First time he's inspired them in two years.

They simply knew exactly what it means to Wilder and they knew he’d really want to win it. We weren’t going to lie down and take it.

Fought for that and every player bang up for it.

Looked like we expected a typical Wilder reaction second half and we just didn’t let them have a second on the ball. We rattled them and but for a 5-10 min spell at the end of the first half they were never in it.

Billy typified the attitude tonight with that moment on halfway with Peltier. Right in front of Wilder as well.

I only had the Boro comms on my stream. To be fair they were very complimentary about us and also said that was the worst performance under Wilder.

Out fought them, out played them and just out classed them tonight.

They’ll do us in the play off final though

Norwood, fleck, berge all started like a house on fire and I'm sure they had something to prove, along with Osborn who always plays like that. Sharp has nothing to prove to any blade, but he definitely put a shift in and now has a genuine partnership with MGW.

There must have been some bad blood in the cluster fuck season and a few demons were being exercised.

Though MGW was just different gravy.

After ditching us like he did.
The players were really up for it.
I reckon the players felt he ran out on them when the chips were down.
He lost a lot of respect from me and others when he went out the back door and walked away with a wedge

Said similar during the game.

Be interesting to hear in later years what some have to say about this period.

I know for a fact one prominent player whom I won't name wasn't that happy with CW.

Did some feel disappointed the way he left when the chips were down for the first time, did some of his comments feel disrespectful towards the end...?

Who knows. It definitely looked like there was a bit more fire in the belly than normal though.

Middlesbrough boss Chris Wilder told BBC Radio Tees:

"It was a little bit more than painful. It was a really poor performance from us.

"It wasn't a tactical battle, they just out-performed us individually. There are no positives for us tonight.

"I'm quite shocked how poor the players were, there's no hiding place. I've got no complaints about the result.

"I thought we'd trained really well and I got a good vibe from the players before the game. I didn't expect us to play in that manner. It's a real eye-opener."

Norwood hates fucking Wilder
Hates fucking Wilder....

Rinse and repeat
Norwood is gay?
Tbf though, if I was I wouldn't do that little surrender monkey. And if I did I'd make him say "you're league 1" every time I thrust into him.
Chimpy little shit.

Translation and summary: “Not my fault guv, the players were crap”.

Leopards, spots, etc.

All the players were up for it last night , we looked sharp , intent & aggressive when out of of possession, like night & day between that & Fridays performance. Difficult to pick a MOTM the match as they all played well last night ( I’ll let u off Wes after your recent heroics) . Thought we kicked on again after Fleck went off with Hourihane again linking up well with Norwood.
Great night all round , CWAK git there served round of applause & then we were down to business . I hope we can maintain that .. quality attacking football ⚔️⚔️⚔️

Wilder has changed and not for the better. Looking at how he dressed just makes him look so big headed. He has a very high opinion of himself.
What an own goal telling his players to kick towards kop in second half. I think that actually helped our first half performance.
As for pan “b”s, he never did have one that worked.
He’s lost the magic he had prior to Covid.
Also Hecky is far more honest and gives much better interviews.
