That League table

I was responding to Star Blades comment 'I think we will get 6 from 6' regarding the next two home matches - I was alluding to current form of 0 from 6 in the last two home games - it's simple enough
The fact that we got 47 points before New Years Day does not affect current form - we have gained 2 points since then with a less than competant display at Donny and losing a one goal advantage to 10 men Notts County.
On present form and attitude we don't look like we'll win another game so my comment was directed at Star Blades faith in the Blades turning it around instantly!

Present form does not affect future form, if it did then the game of football would be pretty boring. The fact is, we've got every chance of winning every single individual game between now and the end of the season, it's whether the players apply themselves.

Most of the great teams of the past and present (forget Man C and Chelsea cheque book football) have always started with a goalproof defence and early in the season, this looked like we trying to achieve this, albeit a few 0-0's and 1-0's where we managed to scramble the ball over the line, but at least this looked lke we were in the right direction.
With the injuries to players like Collins etc this has seriously bug----d this up, when we can get the likes of a back 4 of JPL Collins Maguire and Higginbottom, then we will potentially be unbeatable.
But do we have the time?

No I'm not a gambler, but I stand by what I said, otherwise, why are we still in League 1? Surely, things such as form can't change in the future, can they?

Form changes all the time that much is true. Predicting a change in form is a very expensive passtime.

The best way to determine what will happen "next time out" is to look at what happened in the recent past. As Fiery, quite rightly, pointed out earlier in this thread, our current form does not suggest we are going to win 5 of the next 7 games. Doesn't mean it can't/won't happen of course, but only a fool would put good money on it (which is why you'll get some really nice odds).
