Not having a go at the OP, but respectfully in my humble opinion I think it's time to move on and look forward.

Memories are great, but I don't want us to be like those other people in the city who go on about boxing day for decades to smother decades of underachievement.

If others get enjoyment out of it who am I to stop them of course :)

You should move on from being a playstation manager!

Of course I do. I just don't want us talking about it for 40 years and to be define our success and memories of beating our rivals in a season which we didn't win anything or get promoted.

Wonderful at the time, great memory, but it seems it's posted on here (no offence directed at the OP) every 3 months.

Bet youre fun at parties
Theres nothing wrong with great memories especially beating your closest rivals away from home after all that crap the pigs were saying not one of our players would get in their side etc they were so full of themselves. Putting four past them and of course killing that fucking stupid bouncing they did. Dont think theyve bounced since
I was at that game in 79 it was not nice, so to get a bit of revenge the Bobby Davidson game did that what a great night that was and again we were the underdogs. The icing on the cake was the 2-4 being in their shithole of a ground and jumping around like a fucking lunatic after Duffy scored and watching their faces, the beers after in town are fantastic memories its what being a football fan is all about, enjoying the good times

This season has been a disaster.

Two of the best threads on here to brighten up the season has been Hodgysbrokenthumb and Silent's memories of 60 years ago and 50 years ago respectively.

I hope there will be those posting on here in 40 years time about the events of September 24th 2017. Plus many more memories that we haven't even experienced yet.

Ok great, and as I said if it makes people happy I'm all for it, just seems a bit sad to me.

Just looking forward to us making more memories :D

Let’s leave this seasons doom and gloom behind for a couple of minutes, escape and reflect on some more pleasant memories from times gone by! Relive this amazing day through the memories of some Blades that were there!

Love it.

Do you rain on many parades?

Do you rain on many parades?

Calling beating a small irrelevant team in Sheffield a 'parade' shows how low our standards are.

Winning a trophy or qualifying for Europe is what I would call a parade. For the same reason I was embarrassed that we had a parade after promotion from League 1.

How old are you? Because with that kind of attitude you must be old enough to remember us winning so many things to not want to celebrate the things we do win 🤣😂

Yeah looking at this I understand I appear a bit 'Eeyore' though the thing is reminders of this game are posted very regularly and I find it a bit depressing really (in footballing terms).

Delighted we won this game of course, great memories, but look forward to us having some more

Can get that, this is part of a fledgling series so hopefully some other varied memories coming up will be more your cup of tea

Fair enough :)

If I add a 'unique' one, one of my favourite and funniest memories was this game:

https://www.skysports.com/football/colchester-vs-sheff-utd/report/314403

We were absolutely dreadful and behind for the vast majority of this game, the shoutbox and forum went into meltdown... then suddenly 😂 😂 and no-one knew how to react

Last year I would have loved us to play the pigs, if we had to face them now I would be shitting myself.

I passed on a ticket (really hate going to Swillsborough) and my son had the ticket instead.

He says it was one of the best days of his life (probably to wind me up).

In a season that's been memorable for all the wrong reasons, let's enjoy this memory for a few years yet.

How many teams who win promotion don't have some kind of celebration and or parade?
