We owe you one.
We couldn't survive on such low season ticket sales and shyte football.
As for McCabe, you knew the reality before today so why sanction the signing of a load of nomarks who everyone - bar the usual suspects - knew were not good enough.
Time for some genuine leadership from the top.

had a st for many year this is 1st season without 1, but it will change now Blackwell has gone

you're welcome.
30 years a st holder & today first game as not, and the 2 years overdue change starts to happen.
however i would like it noted that i believe you would have been happy to get shut of or Neil 4years ago so ?? ?

You're one of many fans who are sick to death of the mind numbing drivel served up by Blackwell and the club's hierarchy for a long time.
It isn't just Blackwell's fault. The club completely lost its way last year and committed the cardinal sin of taking the piss by taking fans for granted.
The tragedy now is that we've built a spine around ageing players like Morgan, Monty, Cresswell etc when a new manager with genuine football credentials may well not want any of them.
Anyone watching Britton today must have wondered what the ferk he was doing in our team.
As was pointed out last week, he is a pointless signing if we're going to play the 'Blades Way'.

I have to agree with len on one point. I watched Britton today and felt very sorry for him. If the ball wasn't flying over his head, it was getting nervously thrust his way by the others when he wasn't in a position to receive it.

I hope the next gaffer gets the others to pass to him, to feet, and in space

While I would agree with Len's point the problem is today he defends Britton yet last season he slated Evans when the same playing style was evident.

Your thanks for my not renewing alone have ensured that I will not renew now.

Well done.

I'm amazed that you think that Len is that important!

Bob, I've no idea whether Britton's particularly good or not. We could see a player who seemed to want the ball and wanted to play but got increasingly lost in the chaos around him.
Evans yesterday was no different to the Evans of last season I'm afraid.

As I've said on another thread what surprises me is the timing. It seemed to be common knowledge that Blackwell was on borrowed time but 1 week ? I've just listened to last nights P & G and have to agree 100% with Seth (and that's not something that sits comfortably !). If the board had serious enough concerns why give him the Summer to re-build the squad with his players only to get rid after 7 days of the season ? What has drastically changed from the end of last season to now ? With this in mind, the same people, presumably, will now decide who is going to take us to promotion, still the taregt apparently.

There's something not quite right with all this, it's just not McCabe's way IMO. It's as if Birch has arranged this finance and one of the provisos is that the investors want their man in place and yesterday was just the opportunity they needed to get rid of Blackwell.

No problems with Blackwell going but people need to put their champagne on ice and see what the next few days hold. It's arguably a bigger decision than taking Robson on as the new man is working under much harder circumstances and we have to get this one right. Part of me wants to give Speed a chance but given our finances, given where we are and where we want to be, I can't see McCabe (if indeed he's going to make the choice) going for inexperience. I think we'll go for O'Driscoll, the compo will be relatively small, we know what he can do with players, we know the style of football he wants his teams playing and despite the League position, it'll be a step up for him. My only concern is that O'Driscoll doesn't like the limelight and he would certainly be uncomfortable in the spotlight he'd be under with us.

As others have said, the fear is Brown, Dowie and the rest of the merry-go-round managers who lurch from one failure to another.

Blackpool fans been on the text Fleety ? - my phone went into meltdown during first half yesterday ;)

Been relatively quiet actually although I'm out with a few tonight. They approached yesterday exactly as I thought they would but looking at the goals, it seems their luck is continuing. I shall point out how Burnley started last season !

Why give him 2 weeks? Because you'll have to pay his contract off if you sacked him in the summer. Probably the reason this mutual consent line has been thrown out.
