Yeah cheers for keeping us in League One lads!
Where would we have been without you??
The effort that you all gave during your time here to ensure our League One status is appreciated.

That aside - this is the best thing that's happened to the club in a long time - sending em packing and telling some of the other wasters to find new clubs.
None of them will ever get my thanks for dragging this club down to its lowest point in my lifetime. Wouldnt shed a tear if none of them ever found a club in the football league again. Conference (or Scotland - which is pretty much the same standard from the SPL down) should be the next stop if they're lucky.

Good luck to the likes of like Harris I was surprised when he get sent out on loan as I felt we needed him.

Although not much room for sentiment for the rest of them apart from Tel.

Our fans have a habit of saying they will respect someone that puts their all in, whether they're good enough or not - But in reality if they aren't good enough, our fans don't give a fuck if you try or not. Just have to look as close as Doyle to see that.

Our fans just love lying to themselves to feel better, I guess.

Fans fault?

I don't see why anyone has to thank them. They were paid to do a job in the time they were at the club and most if not all of them weren't good enough to meet the team's objective.

100% effort is a minimum requirement to me. I'm not showing any sentiment towards players who were at best amongst the most average and underwhelming bunch we've ever had.

Twice today I've shaken my head in disbelief at suggestions that we should have kept some of them. The thought of seeing any of them in a Blades shirt again brings me out in a cold sweat.

At which point did I actually give any fault? Whether any of the players are given respect for giving 100% or not, they weren't good enough. Just pointing out a fact that our fans say they will get behind anyone that puts a shift in, when in fact that isn't true at all.

I've always been a big Flynn fan. I know he wasn't good enough and didn't deliver all we needed, but you could imagine him being a real prospect in Liverpool's academy. If only he'd developed pace and power...

Like so many of our players in recent years, he thrived alongside better quality teammates (Maguire, Brayford, Coady), but couldn't step up when asked to carry the fight.

When you say "our fans", how many? All of them?

How do you know that it "isn't true at all" and how do you know that this is a fact?

Well, I guess you didn't change. Still a cunt.

I thought our away game at Crewe was the worst performance of the season
Most of those players mentioned (apart from Tel) were in the team
They certainly didnt give 100 % that day

Ryan Flynn is a frustrating player. He lacked confidence in his own ability at times, on his day he was a pacey, skillful player who could get to the byline and deliver a decent cross. I think this could be the one that comes back and bites us on the bum in years to come!

I wish all four well (good post) but especially Flynny. I know a lot on here didn't rate him, but I did. The goal at Villa will always be in my top ten list and when he played wing back after Beard was injured I was really impressed, why he never had that role last year is beyond me.

I will always applaud him when he returns, good luck Flynnaldo!

Ultimately not good enough. Flynn and JCR had their moments and JMac wasnt as bad as some think, just prone to occasional calamities.
The transfer list is a different kettle of fish. No thanks or feeling for any of them.

Too many players in a comfort zone . Too many players having a cushy number. Too many players being self centred not self motivated.

Just glad to see them gone and we can become a football club again.

So am I, but it wasn't down to a lack of effort and whether you like it or not in the modern day game that's something you can relate to and respect.

They weren't good enough but they gave 100% for the shirt and that's all we can ask.

If Coutts and Hammond had their levels of effort we wouldn't be looking for a brand new midfield.

Don’t think Hammond ever showed a lack of effort. He’s just a limited footballer who relied on his workrate and his body can’t get around as quick as it once did.

Coutts, Baxter, Higdon, McNulty, Freeman, Scougall have been the main culprits for me. A couple are getting another chance though.

I think fans get frustrated at the continuing selection of players they don’t deem good enough and slag them off when they are amongst the worst members of the team whether they are triers or not. But when players leave, fans will wish the triers well even if they were crap/ average (Hill, Porter, Doyle, Monty, etc.) whereas those who took the piss will get the good riddance treatment (Baxter, Cuvelier, Coutts, Higdon, Westlake etc.).

I don’t think “thanks” is the right word. I think it’s the fact that we hammer them collectively for being useless wage thieving wankers etc. It’s a case of wanting to acknowledge those who were decent lads and whilst not good enough for one reason or another to help us meet our objectives, they gave their all for the club and as such, they go with our best wishes.

He didn’t play wing back after Brayford’s injury. Basham did. Flynn played as part of the central 3 in midfield.

You could substitute the word "Crewe", with Port Vale or Oldham, etc., the rest of your post would still be accurate!

I've really don't care who go's and who stays these days as we seem to like a fresh start every year now.

I have to say though. I have absolutely no affinity with any fucker who says Terry Kennedy has let the club down in any way. Blokes got dodgy knees for fucks sake and it could finish him as a player. Right from the days in the Youth Cup team he has been a 100% trier and was, easily, our best CB in Clough's last season whenever he was selected. For some to lump him in as a "none trier" and a reason for us still being at this level is fucking ludicrous. Go fuck yourselves!

True, this year, (my last year was not this season that's just finished) and I still don't know why.... but when Brayford was out at the start of last year, he was excellent in that role, rememeber the night vs. Southampton

Really, so you're just going to ignore the overwhelming evidence in this thread that suggests you're wrong then? The opening post completely conflicts your viewpoint and has garnered 50+ "likes" (I cringe writing that) and numerous responses echoed the "well wishes" sentiment. For what it's worth I have never berated the likes of McEveley, groaned at his mistakes numerous times - yes, but I respected his efforts.
