Thank god we lost at Wembley

Fooking hell, here we go again. Somebody dares to make a predictiont that the Scum would probably beat us at the moment and you all lose your marbles. We couldn't beat them last season, and we were ever so slightly better then than we are now so what's the problem? I hate the bastards with a passion but truth be told, they odds on would get the better of us at the moment.

One thing that still suprises me is how gullible some of you still are, statements like:

Yes in all probability they would right now but we would have had a stronger budget for players in the Championship also.

One thing is undeniable, even by you and that is that McCabe backed His managers financially - big wages and high priced loanees.

I'd deny both of those claims, I don't think we'd have a bigger budget in the Championship, I think the chairman's given up and I really can't see why all of a sudden he'd start taking an interest in the football side just because we were in a higher division.

McCabe never fully backed us in the Prem, he tried to do it on the cheap as always and we paid the price. Only time he spent owt was during the disastrous reign of Robson and again, we doled some cash out by our standards but to a lot of teams we were quite frugal again.

I don't like McCabe, I think he's ruining us and I don't think he's the massive Blade he's painted as. You lot love him, you still think he has the best interests of the club at heart so we'll agree to differ again. FFS though, the way some of you rip into Mic is a joke, you want to grow up a bit, he's just as entitled to his opinion as you are.

Surely "our beloved club" Mic??

You cannot say whether we would be worse off than Wednesday if we had gone up, it is pure conjecture. However, factor in that we are limited via a salary cap at 65% of turnover. Championship clubs are applying rules based on limits on losses (but with certain expenditure excluded such as youth investment). I think £4m this year. Don't get me wrong, this would still have been a bind for us, but would have allowed more leeway on what would be increased turnover (tv, commercial, gates).

What a joke - 'pure conjecture'?? You think McCabe would have got a squad with as much quality as wendy's? Hilarious. Yes we may have a bit more leeway but we would have been in a desperate struggle to stay up and seriously humiliated by wendy in terms of pace, power and quality.

Blackwell also signed footballers, they just weren't suited to our playing style at the time.

As for the financial mess, yes it's a mess, has been for a couple of years. But we have gambled in an attempt to get promotion to the PL

I see you didn't deny that what you have said in praise of Mandaric is the same as what you have criticised McCabe for over the years.

One thing is undeniable, even by you and that is that McCabe backed His managers financially - big wages and high priced loanees. It didn't work for us and unless the pigs get promoted then it won't work for them... In fact Jones tried the same at Cardiff

But McCabe was giving wedge to Blackwell and Adams - 2 complete clowns. Robson decision a disgrace and linked to property ambitions. Totally different to MM and Dave Jones - a proper mamanger working for a chairman who has his eye 100% on football. Yes he wants to make wedge out of wendy but so what - he has completely re-vitalised the club.

PS - watching a good poster like you contort yourself into daft positions with the sole intention of making me look stupid is pathetic. I know you'll think I'm easy target, easy to make look stupid and you'll think you're very clever and very smart but I am 100% consistent. McCabe has ruined our club - very simple.

To those who weren't online at 1.15, 1.36 and 1.49, a summary of Mic's posts

1.15 - Tesco, Asda, or Sainsburys - (McCabe is an asset stripper)
1.36 - Thank God we lost at Wembley - (McCabe has done a shit job)
1.49 - Did Harry look like he was coming down with flu - (McCabe is a liar)

Anyone notice the common theme?

So, no real point in anyone reading any of the content of his posts, the message is the same.

But you all know that anyway, so just take it for the obsessive wind up it is and don't get excited.

This is a seriously good summary - ta!

Great post. Nothing wrong at all with Mic or anyone else pointing out how we have been left standing by our neighbours who up until the arrival of Jones just a few months ago were struggling to be our equal. To suggest McCabe is anything other than totally to blame for our current position is laughable.

chipsncake I disagree. McCabe's problem was entrusting a series of incompetents with a generous budget.

What he has to hold his hands up on are two things: the property decisions and the managerial appointments. To say that he is "totally to blame" is overly simplistic.

In my book making the managerial appointments he has done makes him totally to bame.

I agree about McCabe. But that's a different issue to bigging up the pigs like Mic & some others on here seem to enjoy doing. Some of the pro-pig comments (not just in this thread) are unbelievable - and in my opinion not what you would expect from a Blade.

He put faith in people who he thought he could trust and we have all made that similar mistake before.

Mind you a bit more research before appointing people wouldn't go a miss these days from McCabe. As anyone from Boro or West Brom would of said "Do not sign Bryan Robson!".

Much as it hurts I think it is fair comment to say that the city has gone full circle and once again we are the poor neighbours. Is that bigging up the porkers ? More like pointing out have far we have fallen in recent years. Not so long ago the grunters on porktalk were saying what a well run club we were and wishing they had a owner like McCabe LOL how times change I wouldn't wish McCabe on anyone not even the shit from S6.

Despite what you think im not looking to catch you out, just stating where I think you're contradicting yourself. You do a good enough job yourself of making yourself look stupid ;)

Yes McCabe was giving money to Blackwell and Adams, it's called backing the manager.

Let's not forget, Mandy appointed and sacked Megson, a truly awful manager. He's backing Dave jones, but jones had a ton of money at Cardiff and blew it. Let's also not forget that Dave jones' spending contributed to the dire financial situation that Cardiff got into. Fortunately for them they found an overseas backer with no clue about the clubs traditions.

I'm not saying that jones is a bad manager, but I think he's a manager who needs money to build success... But has never achieved success.

McCabe, as you have stated, picked the right man with Wilson. Had events gone slightly (in the league, not play offs) in our favour it would've been us sat in the championship now. But it's not. It came down to a fine line and now they are spending.

McCabe is addressing the financial restraints and presumably he is still bank rolling the club, just like Mandy. But we are on a tight budget - league wage caps, reduced income etc. so we have a different approach to Wednesday.

I suppose it comes down to perceptions, I don't believe that McCabe is currently a bad man to have running the show. I think he has a decent manager in place as well as pembo in the academy.

Mandy is looking short term, he has a manager that needs to spend and even then it's no guarantee of success. Make no mistake, Mandy is looking to sell, to whom, I dont think he cares. Ask Pompy fans. And let's face it, pigs have only been above us for a matter of months. Not long enough to judge

I'd Rather be in the division they are in, but I'd rather have the set up we have.
