Wendy would absolutely rip us apart and I'd rather not face that.

Let us go up - if we ever do -with a bit of hope.

Credit to Mandaric - bloke knows what he is doing.

Yes in all probability they would right now but we would have had a stronger budget for players in the Championship also.

Would Wendy be signing the Barca B bloke / Antonio et al in L1 ?

Me thinks not.

Said at the time that getting rid of the Ginger was astute ? Sadly I was right :(

Don't even answer him Dronnie.

Obviously that is a logical comment. The thread was started with no logic other than "I haven't had a whinge about United today."

I doubt Wednesday would have got those players had they been in League 1. Had we both gone up, I assume we'd be making our own signings of similar ilk. A certain respect has to go to Dave Jones, he seems to have a much broader horizon in the game than Megson. The Barcelona B signing could be inspired.

He does doesn't Mandaric one of the guiding hands that now see league 1 rivals Portsmouth in due straits.

They can have him, I hope splashes cash and gambles on a return to premier league and they miss out.

It is a good point though that Mic is making think we'd be just like udders struggling, our budget would still be low however not as low as now. I'll be truly gutted if they have a promotion assault and we struggle in L1.

Struggling? They've played two games!

Haha, quality comment.

They've lost to one of the Promotion favourites (Cardiff) away. In the 90th minute and drawn with another tipped for play offs at least (Forest).

If Huddersfield finish above 20th they will consider it a successful season. So the start they have had is fine IMO

Didn't mic complain and blame McCabe that the blades relied on expensive signings and loanees in the attempt to get promoted - we gambled our long term future on short term deals. Mandaric allowed this at Pompy too.

As for Dave Jones, still unbeaten and doing well. Managed to leap frog us in the last few games. In many ways he could also be Blackwell. Blackwell had lots of immediate success when he came in, awesome run after he replaced Robson then followed it up by running Birmingham close, almost pipping them to 3rd. He did this with expensive loans and expensive signings....

Mics support of the Wednesday plan is everything that he stands against with McCabe and Blackwell. This is good news to me.

We may be in a financial mess now, but we're finally being forced to make our way with youth.

Anybody who has sent more than one season on Footy Manager will tell you the first thing you do in the Championship is check out the Barcelona reserve squad.

I reckon Jones plays Footy Manager everyday.

Tis easy this managing business. :)

One thing I really cannot stand is people bigging up the pigs. Shameful. And not something any true Blade would do. UTB FTO

If its at the expense of the Blades or to reiterate his point, you can rely on Mic to do this.

Funny how he wasn't bigging them up all last season when we were above them.

Watched the Cardiff game - Huddersfield were by far the better team, thought they were completely robbed. Cardiff looked dreadful.

Have I missed somat? Have we had a comedy hour? Jones signs footballers, Blackwell does not.

At least you have the sense to recognise we are in a financial mess. That is at least a start in recognising what McCabe has done to your beloved club.

Yes, you're a bigger Blade than me Deano. Sorry to even dare to set foot in BDTBL.

Still fishing eh Mic.....

Nope - the point is that had we gone up we would have a nightmare trying to compete in that division with McCabe at the helm whereas Wenmdy clearly are going to do pretty well and enmtertain the fams more to the point and have hope for the future. I thought a clever bloke like you would have spotted it.

Yep, full credit to Mandaric from me too - I hope he bankrupts em. ;)

I couldn't care less about Wendy, let 'em win the league i don't care

Surely "our beloved club" Mic??

You cannot say whether we would be worse off than Wednesday if we had gone up, it is pure conjecture. However, factor in that we are limited via a salary cap at 65% of turnover. Championship clubs are applying rules based on limits on losses (but with certain expenditure excluded such as youth investment). I think £4m this year. Don't get me wrong, this would still have been a bind for us, but would have allowed more leeway on what would be increased turnover (tv, commercial, gates).

To those who weren't online at 1.15, 1.36 and 1.49, a summary of Mic's posts

1.15 - Tesco, Asda, or Sainsburys - (McCabe is an asset stripper)
1.36 - Thank God we lost at Wembley - (McCabe has done a shit job)
1.49 - Did Harry look like he was coming down with flu - (McCabe is a liar)

Anyone notice the common theme?

So, no real point in anyone reading any of the content of his posts, the message is the same.

But you all know that anyway, so just take it for the obsessive wind up it is and don't get excited.

Blackwell also signed footballers, they just weren't suited to our playing style at the time.

As for the financial mess, yes it's a mess, has been for a couple of years. But we have gambled in an attempt to get promotion to the PL

I see you didn't deny that what you have said in praise of Mandaric is the same as what you have criticised McCabe for over the years.

One thing is undeniable, even by you and that is that McCabe backed His managers financially - big wages and high priced loanees. It didn't work for us and unless the pigs get promoted then it won't work for them... In fact Jones tried the same at Cardiff
