If Pompey had been more clinical, we would have lost.
Derby had lost their previous 6 and we only scraped a 1-0 win.
We got hammered 3-0 at home by a team fighting relegation.
We just squeezed past Swansea who were in shocking form.
Norwich were absolutely awful, and we only managed a 2-0 win at home.

And yet,
We have the best points per game record of anyone in the division over the last 6 games.
We are still second, still equal on non-deducted points with Leeds, although they, along with 3rd placed Burnley, took 6 points from us.
We have won more games than anyone in the division, which would suggest that even if we lose away to Burnley, we would still be able to accumulate enough points to keep them at bay.

Wilder knows what's needed to get us promoted. He's already done it in 2 of the 3 attempts.
I know we'd all like to be watching with the confidence that Leeds, and dare I say it, Burnley supporters seem to have the moment (or do they?!) but the table doesn't lie. Wilder's not stupid.
He knows how to get results and I trust him to do it again this year.
I for one don't wish to wait until we've been in the doldrums for several years before being able to get excited about possibilities rather than probabilities.
You win some, you lose some, and we all have our opinions of what could/should be done better, but if this year isn't our year, maybe next year will.
Me? I'm going to try and understand the reasons for yesterday's performance, and there are plenty, and console myself that CWAK know what they're doing, and how to achieve what we're all hoping for.
Have patience my dear friends. We have seen a remarkable turn round since an uncertain summer, and I'm convinced it will continue.
UTB.
