how come Javier Mascherano went to liverpool with out any problems but soon as tevez wants to leave we suddenly get all the problems with the transer and who owns the players registraion dose any one one the reasons for this. PL need to get there act toghter they have shown them selfs up its about the got sorted out

Liverpool had to show that he was eligible to play for them with no 3rd party influence.

WHU had a hearing and was told to cancel all 3rd party agreements, they stated they did, so in truth monies should go to WHU for any transfer.

Whether or not they did is being disputed now.

Mascherano is still classed as being on loan to Liverpool as well, if they want him at the end of next season they have to pay something like £20million on top of the £10million they paid to get him on 'loan'. I think

Premier League statement............

The Premier League has issued the following statement on the Carlos Tevez transfer.

"The Premier League can confirm that its Board has received and considered a proposal for the settlement of the dispute between Carlos Tevez and West Ham United.

"The decision of the Board, having received Leading Counsel's opinion, is that the agreement reached is compliant with the Rules of the Premier League and consistent with the undertakings given by West Ham United to the Premier League Board at various times since 27th April 2007.

"This will lead to the cancellation of Tevez's registration, thereby releasing him to join another club in due course."

and we should beleive them why???????????? :bomb::bomb::bomb:

There is NO WAY a team would accept a 2 MILLION out of court settlement for a player of Tevez's ability unless that club has something to hide. It's a fucking disgrace! West Ham have dragged this on for weeks, for, in football terms A PALTRY 2 MILLION QUID! They should be ashamed of themselves and should be relegated. WHAT A FARCE!!!!

not long ago didn't the Premier League say that if West Ham did not get the bulk of the transfer fee (or whetever ya wanna call it) there would be a risk of points deduction. - I thought i saw it as anything less than 6million wouldn't be good enough.

According to some reports Tevez was training with Man Utd this morning.

Why? It was not confirmed by the PL at that stage.

Oh well........they can do what they want i suppose!

Warnock fury after Tevez deal values him at £2m
By Glenn Moore
Published: 04 August 2007

The most controversial, drawn-out and unedifying transfer of modern times appeared to reach its conclusion yesterday, but the fall-out from the Carlos Tevez affair may not be over yet. Neil Warnock, the manager whose side were relegated when Tevez inspired an improbable late-season revival by West Ham, poured scorn on the £2m fee the Hammers have received for the Argentine striker. Warnock's former club, Sheffield United, are considering further legal action.

Tevez will not be eligible to play for Manchester United in tomorrow's Community Shield at Wembley but he took and passed a medical at Old Trafford yesterday morning and the necessary paperwork is expected to be completed early next week. This followed the £2m settlement struck by West Ham with the other parties claiming ownership of Tevez.

Warnock, who left Bramall Lane in the wake of the Blades' relegation, said: "I'm astounded that a £30m player can be transferred for £2m. I'm sure everyone in football knows why."

There was no comment from Sheffield United but Kevin McCabe, the plc chairman, was known to be consulting the club's lawyers. A statement is likely today.

With the start of the Premiership season looming, and the prospect of a lengthy legal dispute growing, the various parties involved finally thrashed out a compromise agreement late on Thursday. West Ham and the Premier

League, who signed off the deal yesterday, will now seek to draw a line under the affair. It may not be so simple. From the outside the deal does not add up.

West Ham receive £2m, but Manchester United are paying a lot more. Yet West Ham told the Premier League they had torn up the third-party agreement with Kia Joorabchian and MSI and were Tevez's sole owners. On that basis they were allowed to keep playing Tevez in their final three fixtures, from which they collected nine points.

The justification for the £2m valuation is, apparently, twofold. West Ham argued that Tevez's value was significantly diminished because Tevez did not want to play for them anymore and the club were about to be embroiled in a court case regarding his ownership which they were not certain of winning. In such circumstances, they argued, they should take whatever they could get. Manchester United, meanwhile, are paying an unknown sum (which may well be upwards of £20m) to the other claimants for Tevez's "economic rights".

The Hammers were fined £5.5m in April after admitting irregularities in the transfers of Tevez and Javier Mascherano, who had joined the club in August. Against that they can now set the £2m received from Manchester United, as well as the £20m surviving relegation was worth.

Last night they issued a statement. It read: "West Ham United can confirm that a settlement has been reached today with the representatives of Carlos Tevez which will allow the player to leave the club.

"The settlement ends the current litigation taking place between the respective parties and provides for a £2m fee to be paid to West Ham. The agreement confirms that West Ham do have a valid player's contract with Carlos Tevez and hold the registration of the player. This will be released once the agreed fee has been paid to the club.

"The terms of the settlement are consistent with undertakings given by West Ham United to the Premier League and the rules of the Football Association."

The club's chairman, Eggert Magnusson, said: "I am obviously pleased that we have finally reached the end of this saga through agreement and common sense. All parties involved can now move on and truly focus on the new season."

Joorabchian, Tevez's representative, confirmed that the agreement brought to a close the legal proceedings he had begun against the Hammers.

The Premier League said it was satisfied West Ham had behaved in line with their undertakings when they terminateddeals with Joorabchian in April.

A statement said: "The decision of the [Premier League] board, having received leading counsel's opinion, is that the agreement reached is compliant with the rules of the Premier League and consistent with the undertakings given by West Ham United to the Premier League board at various times since 27th April 2007.

"This will lead to the cancellation of Tevez's registration, thereby releasing him to join another club in due course."

Tevez is expected to train with United this weekend. His next task is to find a place in Sir Alex Ferguson's team. After the uncertainty of recent weeks it is a challenge he will relish.

Looks like Warnock is as surprised as the rest of us.

I have never heard such rubbish in my life, but we all knew it; were they not certain of winning, then the decisions by the panels and the High Court are even more farcical.

Let's just leapfrog them.
