Ten point gap

If only Newcastle and Burnley didn't win at the weekend.

Quite confident we finish above West Brom and Fulham.

Whether we can get higher than 18th place depends on whether Newcastle or Brighton have a second half of the season something like our first; I think Burnley will be fine; they’ve a couple of games in hand, plus Sean Dyche knows what he’s doing. Directly above them are Wolves on 26pts, and others on 29. They all already have enough points on the board to realistically only need a couple more wins, couple of draws, (barring an unprecedented collapse where a team picks up maybe 2 or 3 more points up all season).

We can only do our bit; put points on the board. Got both Newcastle and Brighton still to play, so must win both. We’ve nothing to lose now; just go for it, one game at a time. Worst case scenario we fall short, but head into the Championship on form.

Best case? We give ourselves a chance to capitalise on any huge dip from someone else.

we can certainly do this. we are in position where we need to beat Brighton Burnley Fulham hope they lose 2 more games we dont & problem is that every 1 of those game is like tonight. lose & the seasons over. its extremely high risk. we are walking a tightrope. without a harness

but if you want positivity. we are 7th in current 2021 calendar year Premier league Table

Every chance that one or two teams could go into a bad run. Nerves start jangling and who knows? It will take a miracle but all we can do is win ours and keep hoping. Wilder said tonight, “We have nothing to lose” that gives us a major advantage. Every game a cup tie, no way we won’t get 12 points now so let’s just relax and enjoy the ride.

Still unlikely but one game at a time.

All we can do is what we can do.

Do our bit and maybe build pressure on those above.

We're showing signs of the team of last season in recent games despite missing one or two key players.

Not getting carried away but it's certainly nice to feel positive again.

So glad we didn't get a PL side in FA cup 3rd round, that win was pivotal.

Who knows whether we can stay up, but I'm relieved the getting sub 11 points monkey is off our back, and am actually looking forward to games again now.

If Newcastle's form continues or Brighton's drops off of Beachy Head maybe we can, otherwise 18th place beckons.

I can’t imagine we’ll somehow finish on a worse goal difference than -69, so that’s Derby surpassed. 5 more points to get past Sunderland!

Hopefully we’ll avoid the top 20, but staying out of the top 10 is a reasonable target for now. But 14 more points still seems a long way off given the season we’ve had so far.

What’s nice for once is that I think all the pundits seem to have a soft spot for us which I’ve never come across in my time watching Utd.
Ian Wright on MOTD said that we can get out of trouble. Later on in the programme Jenas and Wright were both asked if WBA or Fulham could stay up and they both said no, categorically.
We haven’t been shit this season. We’ve not had any luck at all with any aspect. Things feel like they have changed momentum. Confidence is back and the hunger is back. There are definitely 3 worse teams than us in this division, the question is have we left it too late to mount a comeback? We are giving ourselves the best possible chance. COYRAWW

I would be fabulous to start going into every game with a 'we can win this' feeling, as we have had for a couple of seasons prior to this one.
There are definitely signs of that confidence and attitude coming back.

Seem to remember we had a 10 point gap between us and Wetsham with not a lot of games to play when we got relegated from the PL last time. We are now 10 points behind Brighton. Can we overtake them and escape?
Last game of season against Burnley, you know it’s going to happen.
