Given that we have sold Tonge, a player derided for a few seasons by many, and also Armstrong, a bit-part player, and loaned Stead, also a bit-part player and not managed to sign anybody, there is now a dark cloud over Bramall Lane. All is doom and gloom. Woe is us. Gnash teeth, cry and whine.
Or is it? As Robbie has said here it's not exactly the end of the world, and just might be a good thing.
So why have a few Blades thrown their teddies so far they've almost gone into orbit? We are a selling club. Every club is a selling club. Real Madrid have sold Robinho, Chelsea have sold Small Wright-Phillips. We are also a buying club, as most clubs are. That's part of the nature of football, and if we weren't a selling club then we'd still have TC running around, even at his age.
Players come and go, and how the hell can we make a judgement on a season that's only just got into September? Has the loan window opened yet? No.
Have we sold all our best players, or even any of our best eleven? If Tonge was as rubbish as many would believe, then no.
So why are all the mardy bums launching the verbal equivalent of a stuffed ursus in a skyward direction, accompanied various dummies, rattles and other assorted fluffy animals? They need either to grow up or get on the naughty step.
