If we dont strengthen the team with quality,i can see us in the bottom half with us looking over our shoulder towards the bottom three.

The current team/players have peaked now for me and its time to rebuild, not stagnate as could happen if Wilder keeps faith with the current team.

The way I see it but for our fantastic start up to Burton away we would have been looking over our shoulders at the bottom 3. We have an ageing strike force all who will need replacing for next season and very limited resources at centre back. We need to improve in quite a few positions can anybody here see Wilder (if he is still here) being adequately backed in the summer in the light of the boardroom in-fighting? All I can see is a long hard season ahead where we will do well to finish mid table without spending a significant amount on new players.

Don’t agree with this.

Wigan are a better team now than when they were relegated - wouldn’t be surprised if they start like we did this season and come with momentum. Don’t write off the others...Millwall were many people’s favourites for relegation this year.

Loads of teams have underperformed this year and should improve...Pigs, Norwich, Scum, Forest, Brum, Brentford, Hull, Derby all have potential to do better.

This league will be as competitive as it always is with many surprises and underperformers.

We are no longer the unknown quantity we were at the start of this season...but if we keep the core of the squad together, with a few quality additions in key areas, I think we’ll be challenging in top half again...our best attributes are team unity and spirit, and the leadership of Wilder. We must ensure we preserve this

One thing about next season is that there could be a lot of very reliable managers among the contenders...

Middlesbrough - Pulis
Southampton - Hughes
Aston Villa - Bruce
West Brom - possibly McCarthy
Derby - Rowett

In which case I'd expect 4 of the top 6 places to be tied up.

Don't think it needs a bunch of money to be spent - reloan/permanent Blackman, new left back, carefully select a loan striker with pace and then don't sell anyone important. Possibly need CB cover, but that's just cover.

While we'd all like to replace the whole strike force, to get what we need would cost a bunch of cash we don't have, barring someone offering silly money for Brooks, so I think you need to look at the loan market for that one

I think Blackburn and Wigan could do fairly well in this league. The bottom 7 clubs are all rubbish. Wigan have shown they can punch above their weight. Both teams will get decent investment.

I can see WBA going into free-fall and Stoke being fairly solid after a bad start. Southampton will be around the top.
Bang on

Fully agree with this but wouldn’t say Brentford have under performed.

TBH. I don't give a fuck how other teams perform next season, whether it's the 3 teams coming up or the 3 coming down from the top flight. Yes of course we have to take them into consideration but we need to see what money is made available for wilder to strengthen the squad?.
Next season will be another challenge but wilder/ knill will have the lads prepared as always.
Let next season take care of itself and let's see what happens?.
I've already renewed my season ticket so I'm ready for rollercoaster ride!. UTB

No, I don’t think Brentford have underachieved actually. But (similarly to us) I don’t think they’ve achieved the points tally their performances have deserved
Yeah I see what you mean, good attacking side. Canos, Watkins, Woods good players.

If we get Blackman back. 2 centre half’s (one cover). Left wing back. Big hard fucker in midfield. Attacking midfielder to challenge Duffy or take over his role and a whole new strike force. Clear 6/7 out and we’d be in a great position... but this is United we’re talking about. We never do it the easy way do we?
