Thought he played well all things considered, added legs and some mobility in the middle of the park, granted a few things might not have come off but that’s football.
I don't think he did, I can remember watching him just stood in the middle of the pitch watching the game go by, thinking your a young lad playing at the lane under lights against Premiership opposition I would be high on adrenaline buzzing all over the pitch.

We will have to agree to disagree on that one. However, if Brooks does play tomorrow, he can't be any worse than some of the wasters in the team over the last couple of games
Just gone on the match thread for that game just to check I wasn't making it up and it appears I am correct (not blowing my own trumpet lol).
A few of the comments I found were

Brooks not tracking back.
Get Fleck on for Brooks.
It's like playing with 10 men with Brooks.

Makes sense, Wilder loves an athlete and you need athletes to compete.

Anyone who's watched the u23s will know that Brooks is as ready as he'll ever be. He's simply outgrown that level, either out on loan now or he gets thrown in the deep end with us. Got the potential to be a fab player. One of the few players with genuine ball carrying ability from midfield which we sorely lack.

Thought this when he played against Palace to be fair. Just the decision making that's lacking, but that'll come

Oslua I can understand looked OK when he came on against Bournemouth, but sorry I haven't seen anything from Brooks to suggest he's good enough for a Championship start let alone a Premiership one.
You may not have seen anything from Brooks to suggest he's good enough for a championship start never mind a PL one.

However I've seen plenty from Fleck, Norwood and Souza to prove they aren't good enough for PL starts. So why not give Brooks a chance?

Tottenham in cup last season. That was his 1st start for us. He was fantastic. Gave us energy, pace and bite in midfield.

He’s never started a league game
His strength is supposed to be ball carrying, I’m sure I read that somewhere, not really seen enough of him to know if that’s true but it’s definitely what we need. I worry about McAtee because whilst that’s his strength I’m not sure he has the pace at this level. He was absent for long spells in the league below but had the quality to make good goal contributions. We really need confidence and the ability to transform defence to attack at key moments quickly. I think that’s the big difference at this level in that a team can go bish bash bosh and turn our corner into their opportunity where they nearly score. It’s always been the case. We need someone/players to be able to do that for us too. I really liked the kid whose name escapes me who Bournemouth signed from Bristol city. He was a right thorn in our side. . . But I digress, good luck to Andre if he plays and I hope it’s not the one game, against one of the best teams in Europe whilst we are at our lowest ebb that he gets an opportunity.

I think time has made his appearance against Tottenham seem better than it actually was, the game just passed him by.
That might be a tad harsh but I certainly agree that I didn’t think ‘bloody hell he’s good, where’ve we been hiding him’ kinda thing. Spurs were weird that night because when I saw the team I thought we were going to get analyated

Good point. Why hasn’t he? Are we refusing or is no one asking?

I'm not saying he's a bad player just I haven't seen anything so far that looks like a Premiership player.
I think some of our fans need too take the old bladey glasses off because he definitely wasn't impressive in the Tottenham game that they are making out.
So we should continue to play players who have consistently showed that they don’t look like Premier League players?

I hope wilder puts a strong yet aggressive arm around Souza and Hamer and tells them to play with passion and belief. A harder as fuck Souza could be the main difference aswell as giving Hamer more freedom.

Not sure where McAtee will fit tbh and we all know he's a big fleck fan so expecting him and norwood to start 🤔

If this true then it's the first sign that he's learnt the lessons of the last PL campaign, and one which Hecky sadly didn't learn. This league is all about pace and athleticism. Both with and without the ball.

If we have Archer and Osula up top and Brooks in midfield, we immediately have that, plus the ability to break at pace, running with the ball.

It may not work, but already we have a pattern of how we're going to play, which again has been lacking all season...

Have you seen our midfield? It’s the slowest in world football. Least they can run around after Liverpool.

This is exactly my thoughts.

We all know the Liverpool players will turn on some brilliance and score from nothing. They did it 4x against Fulham.

But if the starting line up is as suggested we are at least mobile. I would like to see that at least implemented into us this season ready for next.

Please please ban this (insert offensive word here, I don't wish to be banned)

Isn’t the solution simple?

Just put anyone you’re not interested in on ignore. Personably think any in the know info is interesting but of course it should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Also makes me laugh when an ITK might have a run of accurate transfer info but once they get anything wrong then they are called an imposter and receive loads of abuse. Why?

Maybe ITK posters should be including disclaimers explaining “this might not be a fact but here is what I’ve heard ……., take it in the good faith it is meant”

Or is the alternative to stop anyone giving rumours or in the know info they’ve received about line ups, transfers, takeovers etc.

Regards Brooks, don’t think he’s ready but the midfield has been so poor any alternate is viable. Also we need to have one eye on next season regards developing some of the younger players. Wonder if Slimane will be given a chance.

Alex Scott. Bournemouth signed him when he was recovering from an ACL, he's played about 180 minutes of football for them and is now out for months with an MCL injury.

£25m on him, talented though he is, has the potential to go the same way as our £18.5m.on Brewster.

How do you know! Did well against spurs in the cup a real talented player ! It's a big step up for him if he starts. One of our few young players who has a bit of height and can play best of look Andre!

It directly reduces the chance of us getting a result tonight so no the solution isn't for me to put him on ignore.

I don't mind itk stuff related to takeovers etc, but leaking the team can only boost the ego of the poster. It won't help the club at all.

Saying that, Liverpool will have studied all our players and potential formations. We won't catch them unawares whatever our lineup is.

In theory I agree with you and bladesmanluke....definitely see where you're coming from
but can't imagine any club have staff that scour internet sites giving any credence to pre match rumours given a few hours before a match. Doesn't matter even if the ITK has a 90% success rate, think it would be totally amateurish for any manager to rely on info this way.

Might be wrong....do managers ever make tactical changes based on last minute info given on fan sites? Also can't imagine Klopp thinking shit, they've decided to play Brookes instead of Fleck...we're in big trouble now, so we'll need re-inforcements in midfield to cope.

He didn't do well against Spurs how many more times.
If he plays tonight he might have a good game, I hope he does but from the little I have seen of him so far, he's not going too improve us.
