and if we can spend the next few days teaching Evans he doesn't always have to pass the way he is facing (sideways) that would be magic.

Why do people still keep picking Clarke? Apart from a handful of games last season where he hit the zone he was shit, as he was today? I don't get it when a striker that runs his blood to water and averages a goal every other game sits on the bench.
Why are some people getting on Clarke’s back after yesterday? Swansea left their wingers high up the pitch so that our wingbacks had less chance to attack. Couple this with the missing link between midfield and attack (Duffy) meant that both strikers were continually coming deep and feeding off scraps. We created nothing for either of the front two all day yet some want Leon hung drawn and quartered. Yes, the player who top scored in the championship last season not taking penalties into account. True, he was less threatening second half of the season but all strikers go through tough periods including Billy last year.

Henderson
Baldock Basham Egan JOC Stevens
Leonard Fleck
Duffy
Clarke Sharp

We need someone in midfield who can break up counter attacks Leonard gets a go for me. We will face an aerial assault so Clarke will need to play. Duffy has to start if we want to get something out of the game. Basham gets another go as he can switch with Leonard during the game but would equally be happy with Stearman provided he plays RCB. 3-4-1-2 with a holding midfielder away from home. Its our best formation. Start with yesterdays midfield and we will get nothing.

Against Boro? Fucking hell that game's going to be a thrill a minute isn't it?

I would be surprised if he didn't start the same team. He likes to play 3 across the middle against big clubs, especially away from home. I can't imagine that will change. I guess he may sacrifice McG for Woodburn to be even more defensive.

Subs: Moore, Stearman, Bryan, Leonard, Lundstram, McGoldrick, Sharp

That would be mine as well barring any other signings coming in before then potentially although would be tempted to go with McGoldrick instead of Clarke.

I know, but who else do we have until Coutts comes back?

People saying go with Fleck Duffy and Woodburn at Boro, but that will result in a thrashing and pounding for the goal difference as Boro walk though the middle at will.

Henderson
Baldock Egan Stearman O'Connell Stevens
Lunny
Fleck Duffy
Mcgoldrick sharp

That would be my line up

Followed by Clarke coming on for which ever striker tires quicker or doesn't look in the game. And then Woodburn for Duffy as well later on in the game once Duffy starts to tire and there defence tires as well so Woodburn can run at them and maybe even if mcgoldrick is on the pitch still push mcgoldrick a bit further back and push Woodburn into a more attacking position and have mcgoldrick pulling the strings for the strikers. Mcgoldrick has shown he can drop deep and hold the ball up and create stuff his pass pre season for sharps goal was perfect couldn't have been any better, think me in the stands and a lot of other people thought he had left it to late and think sharp thought the same as well but he played it how he wanted and the end result was magic perfectly timed and placed pass leaving Billy 1 on 1 and not many times I would put sharp down to miss that chance. Love wilder and what he has done for the club but yesterday he got it so wrong and think his subs cost us the game.

perhaps we’ve become accustomed to higher standards from leon?

There's definitely a case for Leonard to start in midfield on Tuesday night, and thereafter until Coutts is back.

He can cover more ground than Evans or Lundstram, and enable us to always go with Duffy or someone else in his position.

hendo
freeman steers egan joc noz
duffy lunny fleck
billy woody
i’m revising this
lenny for lundstram
we need to make wholesale changes
this is big for chris up until 5-30 yesterday he was untouchable but after that performance people are shocked
a performance devoid of balance, ideas, passion and commitment it really was pish

Henderson
Freeman Stearman Bryan Lafferty
Duffy Leonard Fleck Woodburn
Sharp McGoldrick
4-4-fuckin 2

If everyone was fit we (Boro) will most likely go with the land of the giants below.

Randolph 6ft 3

Shotton 6ft 3
Friend 6ft 2
Fry 6ft 4
Flint 6ft 5

De sart 6ft 2
Wing 6ft
McNair 6ft 2

Fletcher 6ft 1
Braithwaite 5ft 11

Gestede 6ft 4

Sadly Ayala, McNair and gestede are out so our average height will be reduced much to pulis annouce.

More likely side, depending who comes in this week and if traore goes.

Randolph

Shotton
Fry
Flint
Friend

Clayton
Howson
Leadbitter or wing

Braithwaite
Waghorn
Assombalonga

I can’t see us changing much at the moment, certainly the side for Boro will look very similar except we may go one up top and put Woodburn in midfield.

If however we lose to Boro, QPR and Norwich in the next two weeks I think we will see a wholesale change of both formation, players and tactics.

A switch to 4-4-2, Leonard and Bryan coming in and a change in style of play to one which won’t go down well with the purists on here but we may need to start battling for points.

Yep except Bryan at LB for Lafferty and Egan in the middle alongside Stearman.
Henderson
Freeman Stearman Bryan Lafferty
Duffy Leonard Fleck Woodburn
Sharp McGoldrick
4-4-fuckin 2
I'd agree but that team is picked to give those that played (if that's what you can call it) yesterday a good kick up the arse. It's only a shame I can't think of anyone worth a wank to replace Fleck and McGoldrick too.

Hendo
Leonard Egan. O Connell
Baldock . Evans fleck . Bryan

Can’t change the formation after one game.

Henderson
Leonard. Egan. JO’C.
Baldock. Llundstram. Fleck. Lafferty.
Duffy
Mcgoldrick. Clarke

Been wanting Leonard to be given a run at RCB since March time tbh. Lafferty can at least defend reasonably well and like most people I’d want to see Duffy back in for either Llundstram or Evans.

I think this would be sensible, except I'd play RND instead of Lafferty, or Bryan, someone who is likely to be the one to take the spot permanently, Lafferty isn't that person.

I'd also go Sharp instead of Clarke assuming no-one comes in tomorrow and straight in to the team.

Thing is, I 100% believe if we play the same team on Tuesday we'll lose. We might not play as bad but we'll probably still lose, so why not change something and maybe lose instead take the risk.

Stevens is mind boggling, his form has been poor for so long, how is he still in the first 11? He needs to get replaced if he has any chance of fighting back, because no doubt he's got skill, but as I said, he needs some adversity to fight against.

We also need to be braver when it comes to changing it up, 50-60 minutes if it really isn't working, give subs a chance to get into the rythm of the game and put less pressure on them.
