Maybe a bit of a knee jerk reaction to losing tonight but I definitely think we need to be able to play other formations to get max points possible...

So how about:

- - - - - - - - - - Hendo
Baldock Egan o'connell . Bryan
- - - - - - - Basham. Evans
- - woodburn - Duffy - fleck
- - - - - - - - - - Clarke

Subs: Moore, Stevens, Freeman, Leonard,norrington-d, mcgoldrick, Sharp

I would put a whole 10p on him playing the same team. I can see him being more defensive against Boro.

Might as well stick with the 5 since Coutts is nearly back.

Duffy for Lundstram.

RND or Bryan for Stevens (please God)
Lundstram Duffy Fleck midfield
Woodburn behind McG or McG and Sharp up front.

Or a new signing if he's quick.

The undroppable Leon Clarke.

Woodburn, Duffy and Fleck would be put to the sword pretty easily at Boro I am afraid.

I would go 4-1-4-1

..................Hendo

Baldock. Egan. Stearman. O’Connell

..................Evans

Basham ....Lundstrum.. Fleck... Bryan

..................Mcgoldrick

Bash and Bryan in Midfield might stiffen it up a bit defensively, Mcgoldrick is the most likely to hold it or create something for himself.

Whatever side we pick it looks a stiff task on Tuesday in all honesty.

We don’t have the right type of players to play that formation, Duffy and Woodburn could work but the third man behind the striker is always going to be a square peg in a round hole.

Woodburn, Duffy and fleck would have 6 more "defensive" players behind them in the formation I've suggested...

Evans, Fleck and Duffy in midfield and cross our fingers Boro have an off game.

Can’t play Evans and Lundstrum together again after today surely

Egan hasn't impressed me enough to replace Stearman instantly

I think we should put Stearman back in

I just don't understand why Stearman's been dropped instantly though? He's not put a foot wrong in pre season IMO

Egan plays the same position and he’s the record signing.

Unless we go to a back four of course.

Unless we go to a back four of course.

I've thought for a while that that wouldn't be the worse plan in the world. We give far too many silly goals away with three at the back, and our attacking play using wing backs isn't compensating us enough to go with a 3 at the back.

I'm hoping we start to get a bit more streetwise and solidify our back line with 4 at the back. Egan and Stearman should be our centre halves with Baldock right back and maybe the new lad from Man City at left back.

Duffy and Woodburn switching it up.

Why do people still keep picking Clarke? Apart from a handful of games last season where he hit the zone he was shit, as he was today? I don't get it when a striker that runs his blood to water and averages a goal every other game sits on the bench.

Because he's the only striker at the club who can play upfront on his own?

We 100% need another line leading centre forward.

It would be crazy to rely on Clarke alone for this over the full season.

So we should be looking at two attacking signings, not just one.
