Henderson
Bash, Egan, O'Connell
Baldock Stevens
Norwood
Fleck
McGoldrick Robinson
McBurnie

Sharp
Duffy
L Freeman
K Freeman
Steaman
Morrison
Moore

The two big signings to start
But a familiar look to the team, Robinson for Duff and McBurnie for Sharp.

Our new players need to watch and learn how we do things

If you think we’ve signed McBurnie to sit on the bench then I think you’ll be disappointed. Nailed on to start I reckon.

It's not that we've signed him to go on the bench, it's that he's only played one half of football with us.

Will be a shoe in in short order I imagine, but I think he'll have a few games on the bench to start.

Yep. Ditto Jags.

The one which puzzles me is Mousset. He was keen to leave Bournemouth as he was fed up of bench warming and as things stand he's going to be doing the same here. Initially I thought he would be a confirmed starter because of the circumstances of his transfer, now I'm not so sure whether he'll be any higher up the pecking order than he was at Bournemouth. I'm starting to ponder what the point is of this particular transfer, especially from his perspective.

Henderson - Basham, Egan, O'Connell - Baldock, Norwood, Fleck, Stevens - Robinson - McGoldrick, Sharp

I think it'll be:

Hendo
Basham Egan JOC
Baldock Ravel Norwood Fleck Stevens
Robinson McGoldrick

£10 million Mousset........where is he going to fit in? I think he's the only new signing that concerns me a little.

........................Henderson
...........Basham - Egan - O'Connell
Baldock..........................................Osborn
.....Morrison....L.Freeman...Robinson
................McBurnie...Mousset

That defence looks....in need of a PL signing.

Sentiment aside, Basham shouldn't be starting in a PL side.

Given where we were and where we are, I think Wilder's bought knowing that reinforcements are essential. He'll have made this clear to every player, so getting the chemistry just right might take a game or two. Luke F may become a shoe-in if he can offer something similar to Duffy (this assumes our style remains the same), and most of us seem smitten with young Robinson, so should be interesting to see what his eventual role might be (maybe something free-er than we expect?). Oli Mc, if he starts on the bench, won't be there for too long, so write him in as an eventual shoe-in. It could be that the positions most under threat are Baldock, Norwood or Fleck?

Defence, at the moment, picks itself - Bash, Egan, Joc - but for how long depends on how they manage to look solid. I haven't mentioned Morrison, but my heart would love to see him as an essential component of this team. If he shines then we'll shine is my view. Of course there's Osborn (like the look of him, could be another Cranie??), Enda has the quality (I think) to be a part of this team, and I know Lundstram has his supporters, I'm just not that convinced so far, he's been here for 3 seasons so not sure he'll ever be quite good enough, I guess Wilder imagines he's a better player than Lunny has shown so far, time will tell.

The most interesting season for......well it's difficult to recall. Since wilder's been here we've had very little to be down about, but under his influence we've grown in ways that I've never seen with a Blade's side before.

Surely Mousset and Osborn are upgrades on Sharp and Stevens respectively.

I'd like to think Wilder thinks so anyway or he shouldn't have bought them.

Just my opinion, could be wrong.

Stevens no chance. He's one of our best.

Osborn is an upgrade on Johnson, who was our second LWB who was a) crap for us and b) on loan.

Plus he's cover for Fleck too.

I'd start with both Lundstrum and Lundstram, with Lundstrom and Osbourne on the bench. What do you reckon pommmmpey?

Personally I think signings should be made to improve our starting 11 and our existing options then move over to cover for them.

Again, this is probably Wilder's mindset also, so I'd be surprised if Osborn doesn't take Stevens' place.

Some signings, but surely not every signing is a replacement? That's a strange way to look at it.

He improves our team, and our starting 11 in that he provides proper competition unlike Marvin who was more of a last resort, but why would anyone replace a player like Stevens, regularly our best player, who has been promoted to the premier league, showing his ability, with a player who hasn't?

Osborn is a good player but behind Enda for now.

Tottenham didn't bin Harry Kane off when they bought Moura, he's backup, competition and a strike partner.

If we start mcgoldrick Robinson and mcburnie we have three players who are equally adept at number 9 and 10
Not sure what that means but it excited me

Only signing players who improve your first 11 sounds good but in reality it's absolute pie in the sky thinking. Especially in the position we were in.

3-5-2, McGoldrick in the number 10 role.
Henderson
Basham Egan O’Connell (if fit)
Baldock Stevens
Norwood Fleck
McGoldrick
Robinson Sharp.
Subs:
Moore, Jagielka, Osborn, Lundstrum, Morrison, Freeman, McBurnie;
I’d go Stevens LCB and Osborn LWB if O’Connell not fit.

Not a bad shout. But I think there’ll be a new centre back to fit in by then.

Henderson
Baldock jags Egan O'Connell Steven's
Fleck norwood
Morrison
Sharp Robinson

Subs
Moore, McBurnie, McGoldrick, Osborn, L.Freeman, Basham and Lundstram.

Mcburnie will come on for sharp.
McGoldrick or Luke Freeman will possibly come on for Morrison.
And then leaves 3rd sub for how ever the games going. Lundstrum to help shore it up and hold on. Or either Mcgoldrick or Luke Freeman to come on if we are chasing the game which ever didn't come on for Morrison earlier in the game for me. Shows we now have options and it's a much stronger squad than we have had for a long long time. Shows how the team has grown in depth as no one can make there mind up on a starting 11. Also I know I haven't included Mousett in the line up or subs as from what I saw of him at Matlock he didnt look fit or up to speed yet but could be wrong. But as the front line is the strongest for me he is going to struggle and have to fight for his place meaning a 10 million pound signing could be missing out on the team all together. Who else would you leave out out of McGoldrick/Sharp/McBurnie/Robbinson. 5 strong strikers fighting for 2 places, or possible only one place depending on how we line up against certain oppositions.
