What a horrible title. It's a throwback to L1. Sorry.

But what line up would you like to see us put out on Wednesday?

Considering that Middlesbrough don't play in midweek at all, we need to keep the players as fresh as possible so we're not at a disadvantage on Saturday. It'll be a hard enough game as it is. But I'd expect changes in this game anyway, to give game time to those who haven't featured yet.

Hopefully Baldock and Evans can feature, but I doubt they'll start.

So only Basham, O'Connell and Freeman starting out of those who'll start at Boro. And Basham could play 100 games a season if he had to. Baldock could come on for Freeman.

Should be a strong enough team to win. But I think we'll go with something a little stronger.
 



Keep the back three the same. Keeper the same. Need to develop their understanding, and more games the better.

I would give a run out to Lafferty, and if fit to play, Baldock needs minutes so look to get him starting.
Fleck and Coutts need to get their touch and legs, they should start, but look to take them off after an hour.
Carruthers also needs to raise fitness, so push him to do 90 mins.

Lavery needs to get some action, and maybe Hanson too.

So my team...if fit.
Blackman, Lafferty, Baldock, Bash, Stearman, JoC, Coutts, Fleck, Carruthers, Lavery, Hanson.

Injury permitting, Fleck, Coutts, off after 60mins, for Lundstram and Brooks. Then keep the last sub for either Carruthers or Baldock if they are hanging out.

Given it's the second game of the season and that it takes a few games to get fully match fit, I'd be tempted to play roughly the same team.

Several are clearly not fully there yet.

I really couldn't care less whether we win or not, but it would seem like an own goal to not get everyone match sharp for Saturday.

Ergo, I'd only make one or two changes at most. Lafferty in for Basham, maybe. Lundstram for Coutts. Evans, if fit, for Clarke.

Yeah the more time our cbs and keeper get together the better
 
Thomas looked half decent at Hallam FC game, would like to see him start. Can't risk any injuries to any key players.

I'd be surprised if Wilder changed the team much. He's not one for wholesale changes for starters, and I'm sure he'll want to get some consistency going in the team selection. I think Clarke is a certainty for resting after playing a full game, and I imagine one of the fullbacks to be rested. I think duffy or brooks will come in, if not both, but other than that I think the majority will start the game.

I won't be disappointed if we aren't in the second round, because we do not want the cup games to get in the way of gaining league points.

Agree with everything you said there apart from Coutts and Fleck. I'd rest them as they will be important against Boro and have Lundstram and Carruthers in CM with a full start for Brooks. That way both Carruthers and Brooks get a full 90 which is something they both need.

Other than that I'd like to try and get Ched involved but as you say Lavery and Hanson need some action too so maybe get him as an option off the bench.

Why are people saying Brayford? He's not part of the plans and doesn't have a number, he's not going to play.
