in the interest of balance, where do some others stand

arsenal - signed Havertz, lost xhaka = weaker
Brighton - signed Pedro, lost Mac alister = weaker
chelsea - signed Nkunku & Jackson, lost havertz, kovacic, Mount, loftis cheek, Kante + = weaker
everton - signed no one, lost simms, Davies, Mina, townsend = weaker
liverpool - signed Mac alister, szobostiai, lost Milner, firmino, Keita, oxlade chamberlain = better
man c - signed kovacic, lost gundolan = weaker
Man U - signed mount, lost de gea = 38 yr old HeAton in goal! Weaker
West Ham - Moore from cliftonville, lost LanzinI, masuaka = weaker

point been we have 52 days of the window to go, will the above strengthen? Yes
Man City will spend big on someone, Rice to arsenal, Man U new keeper etc

will we? Yes

im not suggesting we will match them, we know our budget, but pre season has only just started, if the big teams are still working, so are we

I expect 5+ new faces, of which I reckon 3 will be starting v palace

we have a good manager, and a shred recruitment team who have proven themselves, MGW, Hendo, mcatee, Doyle….

Whatever the team is, I just hope he doesn't go for a 'rewards' selection and play too many from last season over new signings. Example, I don't want us to sign a LWB and then see Lowe start v Palace. I don't want us to sign a CM but start Fleck. This is the sort of winnable game we can't waste so we can't fuck about playing a weaker team than necessary

If RND is fit from the start and we get another pacey LCB then we should be a lot stronger than last season.

TBF, we will be exposed from all defensive positions with the quality that we'll face.

There’s absolutely 0 chance we only sign one player between now and Palace.

Also the teams that tend to do better when promoted are the teams that don’t change 5/6 of their starting 11 straight away. B’Mouth, Fulham, Us (first season), Leeds (first season), Brentford. Most of these had the same core for their first game of the season following promotion.

A slow integration of the new boys is better than a whole new team out there. Look how long it took Forest to click with what they did.
