Nobody trying to change your mind , just give there own thoughts on Done at the minute. The managers picking him for a reason. When we stop scoring as a team, he might change it.

The Done myth won't go away will it? In Tuftyball everyone has to work their nuts off. Leon can do everything Runaround can do and far far more, as his brief but hugely impressive cameo against Chesterfield, compared with Runaround's futile chasing, demonstrated.
I wish football was a simple as Leon Clarke coming on and showing a brief excellent cameo then meaning he has to start in place of Done. It isn't.

There were loads of factors contributing to Clarkes' impressive cameo, Done and others tiring their whole defensive unit out was one of them, this then leads to a player like Clarke coming on and having the run of the whole pitch, Chezzie were absolutely shattered because of how we played before Clarke came on so like you have said on a number of occasions, let's trust who Wilder picks because at the minute he's playing Done in front of a player he signed so it should identify that Done is bringing more than you think.

This is what I'm expecting to see based on what I've heard regarding injuries, I think freeman and coutts will be fit to start
Moore; Freeman Ebanks Wright Basham Lafferty; Coutts Fleck Scougall; Sharp Done

What I'd like to see is
Moore; Freeman Ebanks Wright O'Connell Lafferty; Coutts Fleck Scougall; Sharp Clarke

Can't see Wilder going with it but tonight would be ideal to get Brooks some game time in the league, especially with Duffy out, however Scougall will edge him out for obvious reasons, not complaining, but it would be good to see Brooks show what he can do in the league

It would be even better to get three points, as you impliedly accept....

Tufty is admirably ruthless in that particular quest. He is not a givemallarun merchant. I think we'll see Brooks and Co (and I don't include Little Louis in the Co) gerrabitogametime when the time's right and I'll be the first to applaud (well, not the first, that'll be larkymasher) but you know what I mean.,.

I will applaud only if said youngsters are good enough Pinchy.... I am not clambering for the youth, i trust that CW will play them when he sees fit, and thats why he is the manager.... At the moment he is giving us all every reason to trust his judgement.

Ohhhh coutts is fucking magic
He wears a magic hat
He could'a left united
But he said no to that
He stayed to play for wilder
In famous red and white
And when we win the league this year
We'll sing this song all night..

Well, I'll be singing with alcoblade on the Town Hall steps, several gallons later and, in his case, bare-arsed. Do join us... ❤️⚔️

I think he'll rest all of the injured trio. But can see brown starting at right back, other wise why bring him in if you're gonna stick a midfielder there.

Also expect 3 home goals as a minimum.

Moore
EEL---Wright---O'Connell
Brown------------------------Lafferty
Basham----Fleck
Scougall
Sharp---Clarke
Subs: Ramsdale, Freeman, Coutts, Chapman, Lavery, Done, Brooks

Just putting in a call to Burt Bacharach's office, heard he needs a new lyricist............assume that 'poem' is meant to be sung to 'My Old Man's A Dustman'?

Really? I think the game would have proceeded exactly as it did. You and others who trot this one out, are making the facts fit the theory.

The whole team now plays a pressing game. The two strikers are expected to weigh in with a few goals as well, just as the midfielders, as well as pressing, are expected to get on the ball and make things happen; just as the full-backs, as well as pressing, are expected to bomb forward, support the attack and get crosses in.

Freeman has as many goals as Done: Scougall has two and a half times as many.

The case for Done is paper thin and letting in water.
I think it's Wilder who is making the case for Done, by keeping on picking him. Do we doubt him?

Those who don't want to change are surely just backing the manager's judgment.

There is no need to make any unforced changes in my view, and it's clearly one that Wilder shares.

Anyway, isn't life good at the moment?

:)

Regardless of any other changes, I would swap Done for Clarke as a few have said. I thought Clarke was very impressive at Chesterfield.

Done has good energy and work-rate but poor movement (particularly at the moment) for me. My family dog would chase the ball as much/more than Done. He is not in form of late and I would give him a rest.

That said, if he plays and scores a hat-trick to make me look a twit then I will be very happy :)

I share that, including the last paragraph. I want Clarke in for Done because I'm sure it will improve our team, no other reason. However, as alcoblade has, in effect, pointed out, Tufty has justified pretty much all his selections, substitutions and tactics up to now. The lad knows what he is doing and I back him 100% as I did when people were knee-jerking about the (winning) team he picked against MK and particularly the selection of Scoogs (scored one; made the other).

If and when he replaces Done that will be the right thing as well. I think it will happen sooner rather than later.

If all are fit then start with an unchanged line up ...... If it works , and it does work , why fix it ?

As for those hinting at changes ' cos it's only Bury ' you are wrong . Underestimate anyone in this league and it'll come back and bite us in the arse . Go for the jugular every time without exception .

I agree - tonight is a potential banana skin for me.

I think this game is a perfect reward for Leon Clarke who battled on with a piece of broken bone in his ankle earlier in the season!

Wilder described Clarke's conduct as exemplary, he knew something was wrong however wanted to play on through the pain barrier for the team who at the time were in a bit of an early rough spell. Since then Clarke has apparently been hammering it in the gym in order to get himself fit as quick as possible, Wilder stating that he couldn't ask for any more from the player......

The rest is history really....Comes back and composedly finishes from 18-20 yard our against Chesterfield and works his socks off in the process.

If anything Clarke has earned a starting place against his former club and he will be chomping to get out there. No other player can begrudge him for it either for his work to get fit and how he has responded since returning...Sharp was straight over to him in the Chesterfield match and they seem to get on really well which is something I did worry about.

But yeah....Long winded or not. Clarke has to start and if he doesn't I can imagine he will be pissed off, and rightly so!

Joc and Scougall in for Duffy and freeman, assuming Basham at wing back

O'Connell and Scougall play instead of Freeman and Duffy. Coutts is playing.

Good news about Coutts, no surprise there.

Disappointing that Clarke isn't starting.

A little concerning that neither Freeman or Duffy even make the squad.

It'll either be Basham at wing back in the 3-5-2 or EEL at right back in a 4-4-2 diamond. Hopefully the former.

Agree with that, except the Freeman, Duffy thing. We don't want two key players on the bench if only say, 90%. Duffy, in particular, has a strain. Don't want it aggravating and out for a month.

Ohhhh coutts is fucking magic
He wears a magic hat
He would'a left united
But no clubs expressed any interest in buying that
He now plays for wilder
In famous red and white

Amended for accuracy.

It's still better than the 'Follow, Follow' monstrosity...

Done will start.

Not sure about the rest !

UTB

Agree, based on how Wilder wants to play it wouldn't surprise me if Done's the first name on his teamsheet all season.

You can swap Clarke or even Lavery for Sharp, but we don't have anyone else who can "do a Done" over 90 minutes.
