Assuming Blackman and Clarke are injured I'd go with this.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - Moore

- - - - -
Basham Stearman O'Connell

Baldock - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Stevens

- - - - - - - -
L.Evans - - - - - - Fleck

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Duffy

- - - - - - - - - -
C.Evans - - - Sharp

Subs: Eastwood, Freeman, Leonard, Lundstram, Holmes, Brooks/Wilson, Donaldson

It could be a great chance for Ched. I'd prefer him over Donaldson for a home game like this.

I'd imagine one of Brooks or Wilson will be back.

Same. Donaldson would start for Ched though. Not sure why Ched deserves a starting place, but if he's been showing it in training, fine by me.

Donaldson's not quite in his best form and for a home game against a side likely to sit deep I think it would suit Ched more.

Wilson's not going to go straight into the starting 11 and even if he could I'm not sure about playing him and Billy together.

There could definitely be chance for Ched here and I'd love to see him take it.

Same as O.P. but Holmes rather than C.Evans. I'd love to see Holmes and Duffy unlock the parked bus with skill and invention. I think Sharp would absolutely revel in the service and I think our set pieces would be irresistible and our shots like last night from outside the box multiplied from all angles. Bring it on.

Hope Clarke is fit though.

Both in theory should be effective. I would be excited to see either line up.

Hope it's on...

Agreed, that would be my preference too if Clarke isn’t fit. If they park the bus we may need someone like Holmes that could add that bit of match-winning quality.

I like the idea of Holmes playing off a striker - I think he should've come on and played behind Donaldson last night, we were getting so much space and needed someone like him to kill them off. But Sharp has to play. And I don't think we can be going with him in any sort of lone striker role, asking him to lead the line.

It seems to me that Donaldson is a real asset when we are defending, and need an outlet with pace; and that crowded defences find him comfortable to defend against. Burton presumably will park the bus, and we will need to attack down the wings and have players in the box to take chances. Given my track-record on analysing outfield players, I hope he plays and scores a hat-trick.

If Brooks is fit I'd play him with Billy...if Brooks isn't fit I'd play Holmes and Duffy behind Billy against Burton.
Think Wilder will start with the Don unless Ched's being 'doing it' in training.

Ched!!! He’s not good enough to be brought on ahead of Donaldson (or at all) in the league, so why should he start? Also, Wilson is back, and maybe Brooks.

Stop trying to get Ched in the team, he’s crap, move on!

Surely a game to try him in though if Clarke is injured? Better to give him a game vs. Burton than against Fulham

Donaldson has been garbage for a while, would start holmes or brooks off the striker if fit.

you go to all the training sessions. useful to know ;)

Wilder won League 2 with Northampton in 2016 (99 points); he won us League 1 last year with 100 points ; he has got us in 6th place of the Championship this year, with 12 games left. We have had lots of games recently, including last night, with a bad pitch, freezing weather and travel home, and just 3 days recovery time. He and Knill know the players, fitness levels, injuries, characters, etc. Form has been patchy recently, but we have just won 3 out of the last 4, so if everything goes wrong and we lose to Burton, let's not forget his incredible record, and our lack of inside knowledge. Selecting 11 players to be on the pitch depends on an incredible number of variables, and involves predicting how human-beings behave under pressure; he may get things wrong on Saturday, but on the evidence so far, he is right more often than most managers, and if he does something that doesn't work, let's not over-react. Baldy - Flecky - Evansy - Stevey

Duffsy - Holmesy

If Clarke and Wilson are both fit Ched won't even make the bench. Even without them, unused sub is his most likely role.

Every time a Ched fanboy posts an angel loses their wings.
