Just to try and turn the switch back on after the international break lull...

Other than McGoldrick or Clarke, the subs bench is probably the only point of debate.

- - - - - - - - - - - - Henderson

- - - - - -Basham - - Egan - - O'Connell

Freeman - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Stevens

- - - - - - - -Norwood - - - - - - Fleck

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Duffy

- - - - - - - - Sharp - - - - - - McGoldrick

Subs: Moore, Stearman, Lundstram, Johnson, Woodburn, Clarke, Washington

That leaves: Lafferty, Cranie, Coutts, (Baldock, Wright, Bryan - all unfit). Which shows the depth of the squad.

Hopefully we go there confident but not complacent. They've started the season well and will be fancying their chances. Their first choice front two should be starting for the first time this season, so they'll carry a threat.

I think an open game is likely and if we play as we did against Villa, that should favour us.

Agree with that team. Usually a good sign (Or a sign you have no choices :D)

Got a horrible feeling he may drop Duffy to solidify the central midfield as he often likes to do. Really hope I’m wrong.

I think this thread will be more interesting if anyone DOESN'T agree with that team.
We've some brilliant options now but this Saturdays side picks itself for me.

Best squad of players United have had for some years. I think Chris could perm any 11 from 18. Nice to have choices. :)

CW said today he's going for the win. It would be madness to revert back to the 3-5-1-1 formation that failed so miserably in the first two games. Duffy has to start two goals in the last two games. We need to go out and make a statement and trust the 3-1-4-2 thats worked so well for the last four games.

That bench is the best a United bench has looked in a long time.

Actual different options. Pace on the bench is going to be a huge thing in those tight 0-0/1-1 matches.

Unchanged team is a no-brainer.
So are most of the subs.
Coutts was a sub for the Villa match so might keep his place on the bench for this one?
It would be great to have him as an option for the last 30 mins or so.
If he does make the bench then Lundstram would be the one to miss out

Can't see him dropping Sharp while as long as he's scoring. Clarke will get the go ahead over McGoldrick.

Would rather have Coutts on the bench rather than Lundstram

Coutts is still a mile away from playing.

He'll definitely not be on the bench on Saturday.

He’s a mile away from starting but can give the team 45 mins no problem. If he’s a mile away from playing then I doubt he would have been on the bench against Villa

He was on the bench as an in-joke/nod to the fans.

Trust me, he won't be on the bench at Bristol.
In joke/nod to the fans? Really? You think Wilder would do that at risk to the team? Coutts isn’t fully up to speed as we all know but I watched him for 60 minutes, full throttle at Sheffield FC and he’s more than cable of playing part of the game ........ trust me

I think the team for me has to be unchanged. The players deserve that after the shift and performance they put in against villa. Wilder says players have to earn there shirts and think he should stick with this and it should be mcgoldricks shirt to loose now, Leon will have to earn his place again for me. The interesting bit will be the bench but for me i would go for: Moore, Stearman, Johnson, Clarke, Washington, Woodburn and coutts as he has played bit parts in under 23 games and the game other day against Charlton behind closed doors, I think he is more than capable of coming off the bench and even playing a half if we needed him to and if he can do that then he takes lundstram place on the bench for me.
