Would someone please tell Micky Adams, his coaching staff and everyone surrounding the club that we get points for winning games and not for having the youngest squad in the league. Whilst I am pleased about the academy and that we are looking to the furture by signing young players the last time I looked we were 1 point above relegation and in the fight of our lives.

We are leaking goals like the titanic leaked water in 1908 and we bring in 3 defenders under 21. We are crying out for experience and we get kids. In the last home game we had 4 academy players on the bench. Perhaps Tricky Micky fancies himself as a bit of an Arsene Wenger, but personally I'd be more interested in amassing 45 points to survive.

Is there some rule that I have overlooked. Will we get extra points for having an average squad age of under 20? Is there something similar to the fair play award that will save us. Perhaps Micky Adams is one step ahead of Dougie Freedman and our youth team will pull us out of trouble on a technicaility. Hmmm.

Or perhaps Micky and Trev have a grand plan. Our team of kids will be sure to get us ot of League One next year. They'll run the likes of Charlton, Southampton and Huddersfield ragged. This year will be an experience, but next year we'll run wild.Mind you, they are young, so how about the season after that. Yes, that's it: we'll run away with League 2 in 2013/2014, then get back to back promotions and find ourselves in the Premier League. Micky will do a Harry. Just imagine the likes of Slew, Lowton, these 3 new defenders, the 7 academy youths Pemberton talked about in 2 or 3 years time. We'll get a record points tally in League 2.

Personally I'd sooner stay up. Bring in experience and beat the drop. But Tricky Trev and Tricky Micky clearly have a plan and I'm righ behind them. My (blind) faith is with them all the way. No questions. Premiership by 2017, that fits into our plans doesn't it?

I'm not sure the titanic was leaking that much water in 1908, they didn't start building it until 1909.

In other news: Please change the record.

Well, I was going to argue with Olle all the live-long day, but alas, this thread will be denied my humour and wit. Besides which, I can't be arsed. I've got one child to sort here. I even thought about posting a Youtube link to "Yakety Yak" by The Coasters. This is better though....

Why dont we seem capable of attracting a few old heads anymore, even on loan? Years ago we seemed to be the dumping ground for all the old journey men pro's, or is it the new way forward? take a couple of youngsters on loan, cheap wages, if they are any good sign them, if not send em back and try some more. Try before you buy instead of forking out beforehand!!!

In Simonsen/Wright, Kozzie, Nosworthy and Ertl we do have some experience in that backline. Ertl has very recent experience of battling against relegation from the championship too. What we need as much as anything else is to have those experienced players playing at the top of their game, which for various reasons has not happened so far this season. If we blend them with some tidier players, then we should be fine.

I can't be arsed to even get involved in a discussion on it.

Change what record? i have not posted anything like this before. Are you telling me that you are not concerned that we seem to be concentrating on squd of 2015, rather than survival?

A sensible post, wow.

I was talking to a Palace fan I used to work with this week and saying how poor I though Ertl was. He was actually offended. He said Ertl was a fans favourite at Palace and that he was instrumental in them staying up. He played at RB during the run in and was very good for them, battling very hard.

You are right though Loghbroro, it is tme for our old heads to stand up and be counted. The players you named above should be using their experience and leading the rest. They have not so far. They may be crucial in the run in and survival.

I can't be arsed to even get involved in a discussion on it.

I should have predicted the usual suspects poo pooing my post, because I am spot on, they are insecure about their opions and scared of gettig out debated by myself. And people say I am boring; Ha ha; People give myslef, Mic and Lenners stick but the so called 'clappers' are just as bad. I always thought this was a forum for intelligent, constructive debate and banter. Seems not.

You cannot be arsed to debate because you know I have a point.....

10 pages and 100 posters frothing at the mouth.

17 pages, 2 bannings, and lots of self-congratulatory bullshit.

Well said.

And to give more reasons why you get the responses you do, here's a few bullet points:

- the sentiment in this thread has been expressed by numerous people already
- we're 50% of the way through the transfer window, but you've pretty much written off our transfer policy thus far
- despite it being stated consistently over the last few weeks, you seem to feel the need to start another thread about it
- you turn a single point into War and Peace simply because you love the sound of your own prose
- despite it being the first post in the thread and nothing from 'clappers' thus far, you get in a few digs at people who want to show faith in Micky or at least give him a chance

Anyway, this thread isn't about our transfer policy; as per usual, any thread started by you, is about... well.... you isn't it?

<end bite>

I think you are being a little unfair, but I have thick skin so no worries. I have been behaving myself of late, but it appears that my brush is already tarred. In response to your points:
- fair enough.
- so i the trqnsfer window closes and there has been little or no more activity then this thread is more valid? (I will remember that at the end of the month).
- I am concerned. THIS WEEK (not the last few weeks) we have signed 3 very young and inexperienced players, despite Adams saying he wanted experience.
- you been on the wacky backy? This sunshine band, clappers and knockers, war stuff is all in the past.
- I think there were a few digs at me before I retaliated.

This thread is aout SUFC. The Blades are currently 4th from bottom, blighted by injur, playing poorly, have no confidence and are lacking pace, flair, EXPERIENCE and quality. That says to me we need bodies. We need experience and quality and we need it NOW. I realise you bear some kind of grudge, but it would be great if you cold get over it and focus on United. I am worried for us. This thread might have been laced with sarcasm, but it is definately about SUFC.

Adams has got a couple of loans in to tide us through, but i'd rather he found the right permanent centre back that we need. If that means it takes another couple of then i've no problem with that.

If he doesn't get one in by the end of the window, i think it's fair to criticise his policy, but not really before, especially since the irish lads, the aussie, and the Norwegians will have been signings based on trials over the last couple of months and little to do with Micky.

I think it is probably unrealistic he brings in any perm signings this January. I'd take an experienced centre back on loan if that is all that is on offer. I'm not convinced by Ertl. Bartley is good, but I'd like to see an experienced brusier next to him (Morgs-esque).

Fair enough Highbury, though my comments are aimed at the whole coaching and scouting network ....

To be fair to the scouting network they've had a little over 2 weeks under a new boss. Perhaps his scouting targets were much different to Speeds? In any case, they have a responsibility to provide a team for the future as well as for now.

I'd rather wait til the Windows is finished before making any criticisms
