Probably the biggest points of the season

A week ago we were looking at 2 tricky away fixtures in the buildup to the "big one." Honestly I'd have been happy with 2 points from the 2 games, to not lose either would have been great. To now be sat here having taken 6 points from those 2 games, including a scrappy, barely-deserved win tonight, is absolutely brilliant. The players will be flying after that. All we need to do is not be complacent, and realise that our defence is solid, so we've got the luxury of "going for it" a bit and we will beat them on Sunday.

Not a brilliant performance tonight by any means, but a brilliant result. When they were 2-0 up and we were 0-1 down they'd have been salivating. Seeing us turn it round, even when playing way below what we're capable of, will be a gut punch to them. Now they know that even when we're not at it, we can still grind out a result.

Bring it on.

Every team has off days, it's the ones who grind out a result from those days that makes you a contender for autos or not, this team has skill, class, grit, determination and togetherness in abundance, this is the type of blades team that I love

No disrespect but that’s a mid table performance at best, the last 10 minutes of the game was a promotion winning performance. Lucky, but a very important 3 points.

I wouldn't say we were lucky. Both teams had spells in the game, especially in the second half but I don't think they deserved to win any more than we did.

I agree that overall it wasn't our best performance, but being able to win games like that is what promotion teams do, and nothing beats a last minute winner. It will have given an already winning team another boost going into a huge game at the weekend.

After we went one nil down we looked excellent to be fair they couldn’t live with us one yes but burrows is a stunnning signing

I remember in the 70/71 season being 0-3 down to Robins at the Lane and clawing it back to 3-3 ... many said that was a result which showed our determination to get promoted.
I think it was shortly after that we were 2-0 at QPR and got a late equaliser ... these games do wonders for morale.

Reminded me of the Swansea away game in the last promotion season. Smash and grab with very little quality on show throughout.

Never forgot that day we played at QPR in March 1971. I was at the Lane watching our reserves beating Blackburn 5-2. I was keeping my eyes on the Cricket Pavilion scoreboard for the score updates of our match at QPR more than remembering any of the 7 goals in the reserves match.

About 20 minutes of play my dad heard from the spectators that our star defender, David Powell got carried off at Loftus Road and then passed the info to me. Not long after that we could see from the scoreboard that QPR were leading by a goal. During half time my dad then overheard more disturbing news and then told me "Powell has been taken to hospital!" Horrible news! Midway in the 2nd half it was revealed on the scoreboard that QPR added another goal. I was thinking "Three defeats in a row!" (we had lost at Carlisle and then that brutal home defeat to Hull) and our promotion chances were getting more remote.

After the final whistle at the Lane, before I made for the exits, I looked at the scoreboard for one more time and it was still 2-0. My dad and I then were about to turn left after leaving the exit on John Street and then all of a sudden there were excited shouts and confusion on the pavements so my dad and I rushed back towards the John Street Terraces, on the way I saw a tall man with tache at the exit raising both hands signalling "2-2", I was praying that he wasnt joking and then when I saw the 2-2 at the cricket pavilion scoreboard , it was a big swing from despair to joy and it was the same for others who had rushed back into the ground like my dad and I did!

Nothing lucky about it. That was down to mentality & desire. It wasn’t as if we were gifted either of the goals.

A mid week visit to a tricky venue, to come away with all 3 after not being at our best, we will look back and this will be the best 3 points of the season
With Sunday coming as well, getting that result was huge.
It shows the mentality we have, and profiting from it last night is a massive boost.

2 difficult away games at teams that don't lose at home. 6 points........🤔.

I love this team more each week and after last season that is so refreshing and surprising.

We shouldnt underestimate that result in terms of the belief that it should instill in the players.
I dont think we were as bad as some have suggested. We largely dominated the game without creating too many chances up until conceding the penalty.
They werent in the game until around the hour mark and even then it was still fairly even.
To battle back the way we did to get the equaliser was excellent and showed the desire in the team to take it up a level.
A lot of teams would have been happy and settled for a point having equalised in the last couple of minutes of normal time. To continue pushing for a winner was exceptional and this may be one game that we look back on in May as a potential season definer in term of the end goal.
If nothing else, it should give the players the confidence to go out and perform like we know they can against that lot on Sunday...

More importantly the momentum and belief we carry into the match against the truffle hunters .

De-ja-vu of the Khadra goal at Swansea in the last promotion season.....

It was lucky. Without the red we definitely wouldn't have won. Sorry to piss on the cornflakes.

That’s when an away draw really meant something
