Professional football really isn't about 'giving people a go'. That's Sunday League mentality.

Givimago!

No it's not. But i'm suggesting that playing some players with more pace than the current 11 might aid us going forward.

Even without that Brooks has looked good when I've seen him and has earned more of a chance to impress. Similarly with the highly rated England youth player we have signed to help us this season.

My starting XI:-

Moore
Freeman-EEL-O'Connell-Lafferty
Coutts-Basham-Whiteman-Fleck
Clarke-Lavery

Do we think he'll stick with the 3-5-2?

Personally I like the formation. Gives us three centre backs, which is handy for set pieces. Three in the middle of the park so not overun by teams. Two up top so we're not outnumbered or reliant on someone holding the ball up.

I'd stick with same lineup

- - - - - - - - - - - - Moore
- - - - -- - EbaLa - - Wright - - - - O'Connell
Freeman - - Coutts- - - - -Basham- - - - -- - -- - Lafferty
- - - - -- - - - - - - -Duffy - - -Chapman
- - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Sharp

Subs: Long, Wilson, Hussey, Whiteman/Fleck, Scougall, Done, Clarke

  • Need to start well, no room for complacency
  • Duffy and Chapman fluid just behind and joining in with Sharp
  • Decent options on bench if needs be

UTB!!

I think he will start with the team that finished against Southend.

Maybe Duffy in front of Scougal

Get a win today and I think we are on to something. Don't, and it's going to be a long up and down season...

Big big game today.

Same team, surely?

They don't play a diamond but they do have two relatively quick players so three at the back still serves a purpose.

Have a funny feeling about Done today getting off the mark with a scruffy goal!

So it's 3-5-2 again, just Ebanks-Landell in for Wilson.

Wimbledon going for it with that line up. That's probably a good thing for us, we should get space. Big mistake not starting Lyle Taylor though, surely he'd be likely to score against us.

Basham starts again, that's worrying.
Not sure how it's that massively worrying straight after a game where him and Coutts dominated the centre of midfield?

Who would you replace him with? Whiteman, maybe, but it's not the right time yet.
