That's what I'd go for Pomps but if anyone truly believes we'll switch from CW's trusted 352 or 532, dependant on how you see it, then I want some of whatever they're smoking!

Good point.
Lets face it, Egan is going to go into the center so we hardly have any aerial ball winners in the back line.

McBurnie posted a picture of himself as Jaap Stam at the weekend so I assume that he's been readied for for a bigger defensive role until one of the back 3 return.

I tend to agree Sid. I can’t see us going to a back four. Stevens has played there before, he seems lost at the moment in his own position. I think that’s the sensible option.

There’s plenty on here too quick to criticise a player when they don’t immediately start playing like a seasoned Premiership pro. He’s a young lad that needs time and patience to learn his trade. I remember quite a few on this board who were slating Egan after only a handful of games for us ....... now look at him.

We’re not doing loans this year.

Their preferred formation is 4-4-2 but the two wide midfielders almost make it a 4-2-2-2 which creates a strong counter press almost like a ring around the team in possession. Our 5-3-2 and especially Norwood will come under extreme pressure as he’ll be isolated and quality service to front 2 will like all season be difficult. Didsy will likely drop deeper and deeper to get on ball and gap between him and Brewster will make it very difficult to create. It’s critical therefore they match up numbers in midfield and keep the 2 banks of 4 compact and I would go 4-4-1-1. It’s not a McB game as he won’t dominate Vestergaard and their back 4 are not most mobile but Brewster has to get closer to Didzy (the only sensible thing Sutton said last night!)
