I know we're still buzzing about a win against those cheating bastards Villa.

But got a game in 3 days time, (even if we do appeal Jags red card i doubt it will be enough time to overturn and almost definitely wont be anyway)

So... who do we play against Saints?

Think midfield will remain the same, Fleck and Norwood played well enough for me to be happy to keep it like it was

STRIKERS

Who partners Mcgoldrick, I think Brewster has shown he needs more conditioning and strengthening before hes ready for PL, I'm generally a fan of Burke but he disappointed me tonight, however I can't bear to think of Mcburnie coming back into start either.... so pretty much leaves it down to Mousset or Sharp to be honest.

Personally think we should go to a back 4 of Baldock - Ampadu - Bryan - Stevens.

I think Wilder will stick to the formation though and have Ampadu Bryan and Stevens as the centre backs with Osborn at LWB.

This is what I was toying with too, problem is with Bryan being inside of Stevens is we lose out on his distribution down the flanks.

But I don't think you can swap them around as I Stevens is good enough defensively to play in centre of defence either

Oddly, if the card is overturned, the fact he's only played 57 minutes might mean he would be able to play at the weekend. I doubt he would have managed 3 x 90 minutes.

Baldock moves slightly inside to play RCB. Ampadu shuffles across to CB in a role it was envisaged he plays anyway.

Burke comes in at RWB, in a role he played at Alves, and gets to use his pace out wide.

Nobody is overly unfamiliar with the position being asked to play, you retain some continuity which I guess Chris is striving for by persevering with Enda, you retain Kean's passing on the left, the defence is pretty mobile against a front two who aren't aerial beasts and you get potential for overlap from Baldock. In addition you get some rapid pace from Burke and don't rely on the weaker part of his game.

You also don't have to work out a new set of roles and responsibilities a new system would bring and it also sets you up for the Chelsea game where Jags can simply replace Ampadu who is unavailable.

It also means of the back 6, 5 of them are 6' or above so we do have some aerial prowess.

Midfield remains the same. Then just depends whether McBurnie comes back in. Defensively he can also pick up Vestergaard but given you now have Burke operating as close to a winger as possible he may get some more traditional service.

Though again a lot may depend on fitness. Who knows maybe Mousse is fit for a run about? Ha ha.

Or maybe you do try Brewster with McBurnie for once?

I cna see Sharp coming in but I think I'd wait to see what sort of game it is first and try to pull and push them around a bit first. I wouldn't be going Sharp and McBurnie.

Just want to say and correct me if I'm wrong, how does Lunny justify a shirt when he's struggled to score at least a 5 out of 10 since who knows when? Surely there's a case for someone to come in, all they have to do is be better than 5.

Their preferred formation is 4-4-2 but the two wide midfielders almost make it a 4-2-2-2 which creates a strong counter press almost like a ring around the team in possession. Our 5-3-2 and especially Norwood will come under extreme pressure as he’ll be isolated and quality service to front 2 will like all season be difficult. Didsy will likely drop deeper and deeper to get on ball and gap between him and Brewster will make it very difficult to create. It’s critical therefore they match up numbers in midfield and keep the 2 banks of 4 compact and I would go 4-4-1-1. It’s not a McB game as he won’t dominate Vestergaard and their back 4 are not most mobile but Brewster has to get closer to Didzy (the only sensible thing Sutton said last night!)
