Hendo
Baldock Bash Egan JOC Stevens
Norwood Fleck
Robinson Sharp McBurnie (imo playing off the left is where mcburnie plays his highest quality football as he did playing that half season at the dingles)

A lot of front players vying for those starting shirts.

I can’t help but think our optimum offensive line up right now is Dids behind Robbo and Bill. For games at home and those away sides we really want to have a go at (so not all of them), this is how I’d go.

Yes he’s cost a lot of money, but Oli Irn Bru has to be a plan B off the bench for me as things stand. Freeman the same.

Moose ? Fuck knows !

UTB

so!! have £15 - 20 million & £10 million stuck maybe on a bench.........don't think CW has that in mind

It's exciting to think how many good options we have at the top of the pitch. Looking forward to seeing moose on the loose.

Robinson looked decent 1st half but a little lost 2nd half, seems unsure where to go. Freeman did look pretty handy when he came on so for me it's Robbo/Freeman fighting for that spot.

I think you're right that Robinson faded a bit 2nd half but also they really doubled up on him and closed his space down. Thought he battled on though and will get used to this tactic and learn how to combat it.

Fwiw, i actually think Lunny had a better game than Norwood who was pretty invisible. However I don't think that was Norwoods fault. Just this flat 3 setup doesn't suit Norwoods strengths at all.

Also would keep Sharp on bench. I think his role is going to be defined as an excellent super sub option this season when we need to get something out of the game.

I think Sharp should start next week, Freeman behind the front two with Robinson as the sub option as the bench. Try something different to evaluate the best tactics for the Leicester match. Lundstram has a part to play this season, but it'll probably be mostly away, he might even drop out of the squad entirely to accommodate Morrison or Mousset on the bench.

I know we have only just finished the game at Bournemouth but for those who have seen the game or listened on radio who would you change for next week, Freeman to start in place of Lundstrum? Billy/Mcburnie in for Mcgoldrick? Morrison in the squad? Some tough decisions but like everyone else I can't wait, feel sorry for those fans who can't get tickets.

Think I'd like to see Didzy behind Sharp and Robinson/Mcburnie, he's always been well suited there, when Duffy wasn't, and he won't be again.

We need to win our Home games against teams in the bottom 10. Palace IMO are one of those. Despite looking comfortable, missing a couple of chances and having the greater possession the starting formation to-day ran out of steam after the hour mark. Bournemouth after their first real period of pressure in the game scored after 62 minutes.

CW made the right decision, changed the formation to our more natural shape and we immediately were on the front foot pushing Bournemouth back as they had to worry about a number 10. Deserved equaliser from inour most natural goalscorer.

It would be madness tostart with the same formation at Home against the likes of Palace. Sharp has to start for me as does Freemen after a good cameo to-day. 3-4-1-2 we have to be on the front foot from the off.

It will take us a few games to get up to speed, new team bonding on the pitch to get used to our style whatever that will evolve into. I like Norwood, time on the ball to spray that killer pass and Robinson will become a real menace imo. Mousset. Look forward to seeing him fit and unleashed too. Good result today. Billy the man...In Wilder we trust. End.

I'd go:

Henderson
Basham Egan O'Connell
Baldock Norwood Fleck Stevens
Robinson
Sharp McGoldrick

Subs: Moore, Jagielka, Besic, Osborn, Freeman, Mousset, McBurnie

I think Wilder will do the same but start McBurnie, probably in place of McGoldrick.

He can't go with Lundstram at home to Palace after spending all that money on attackers. Will be interesting to see how he gets him on the bench though.

Must be me but can’t understand the love in for Lundstram. One good ball
In the first minute and that was it. Need someone like Morrison or Freeman who can take the ball and run at defences. Also
Think Norwood days are limited. You can see why he was ditched by clubs when they reached the premier

Apart from the other good ball at the very least.

Let's credit the bloke for a decent performance, he is wearing the shirt after all, given to him by Wilder, even if the general belief is he's not good enough.

At last. Someone who realises we play with a back three not a back five.

If we are going on the performance of yesterday Lundstram should start. If we go with a different formation someone will drop out. But Lundstram was arguably our best midfielder yesterday.

i think it’ll be the same team. palace’s best player is zaha, get lunny sitting on him and cancel him out the game.

That's a very interesting point.
Will Wilder look at man marking this season.
May work against opposition with one star player but WTF would happen against Man City Liverpool and Spurs and how would Hendo manage to man mark?
I'd be concerned about the number of free kicks and penalties we'd give away. Zaha is the dive champion and I think he'd tie Lundstram up in knots.

Exactly right. I said this weeks ago. Kevin Phillips did just that for about five years. It doesn’t occur to unsophisticated Bladey Blades of course. They can’t see beyond ‘Billy must start’.

Norwood and Lunny both contributed more than Fleck, by the way.

Lundstram against Ryan Fraser is one thing, Lundstram against Zaha is something that’s nightmare inducing.

The best way to keep Zaha away from our goal is to attack them. Simple as that.

Scored in his first game to earn us our first point and you’re trying to turn it into something it’s not.

You’re such an incredibly boring man.

Yes, as a sub. He’ll be a very effective substitute, as I said weeks ago. What’s wrong with that?

I see he’s currently leading our player ratings by a mile. What risible Bladey nonsense. Embarrassing.

Absolutely. If we dominate the middle we starve him of ball. No way he dosent win one on ones running at us.

Norwood played a big part in us being so tight at the back yesterday but lundstram played a couple of through balls so must have played better

He set up three goal scoring opportunities. More than any other player on the pitch.
