On to the next one, put that last performance behind us but learn from the mistakes:

Wes
Anel Egan Clark
Baldock ————— RND
Berge - Norwood
Khadra - Ndiaye
Sharp

Subs: Davies, Arblaster, Coulibaly, Gordon, Brewster, Osborn, Jebbison
Clark gets another chance for me, he was shaky first 20 but settled, but if we had Bash or even JLT fit they’d start. Lowe and Stevens dropped, i wouldn’t even bench Lowe, ship him out quick.

Norwood stays, despite the mistakes we have a lack of viable options, a new CM partner in Berge and i think he could do better. 2x CAMs to help the midfield and create, Sharp up top to finish said chances. Brewster on at 60.

I gather that Khadra/Sharp aren't match fit so won't consider them for more than 45 just yet.

Desperate for something fresh in midfield so hopefully Arblaster (or Coulibaly for that matter) could provide it. Maybe even Doyle could be back to something like fitness from what Hecky was hinting at, probably not to start though. Just please don't give us that Norwood/Fleck combo again.

Whatever Olympiakos were offering, go back to them today and snap their hands off.

Berge in a 2 with Norwood, Khadra starting with no pre season with no replacement, sharp upfront

Anyone instead of Fleck is an upgrade based on last night, Khadra looked our biggest attacking threat after N'Diaye, and Sharp was our top scorer last season.

Berge can drop in as replacement as required and then bring on Coulibaly or Arblaster. Sharp up front is our bread and butter and is proven to score goals

I just fear it’s early days for Arblaster or Coulibaly to start but could be wrong! I think they’d be great options off the bench though,

and you could be right about Sharp and Khadra, however we do have 5x subs to use, could mean we play alternative front lines in each half

First rule for Millwall, round pegs, round holes Hecky...

Although he looked more of a bomb scare than Claude Davis for the first 20 minutes last night I would give Clark the benefit of the doubt in that it was his first game and he was starting at RCB.....we don't want to be bringing back JLT unless we are forced to.

Norwood starts but that's only because we have precious little option otherwise, nothing tells me Sander can play that deep role in our system. Talking of Berge shoehorning him in is the problem for me and he would be left out along with Fleck, that said, I can't see Hecky making too many wholesale changes. He also keeps hinting at a 4-3-3 so I wonder if he may go with that on Saturday....?

That side is arguably worse than last nights.
Nonsense.

You have to give these players minutes. We can use 5 subs now, so if they’re struggling take them off.

That back 5 is miles better than last nights obviously, Berge and Norwood will be better than seeing Fleck or Osborn on the pitch.

Khadra won’t have been sat on his arse doing fuck all at Brighton, and starting Billy is wise. Jebbo will get bullied by them.

A side without Fleck has to be better than last night.
All 3 of our midfield last night were poor.

The game has now advanced from when Norwood and Fleck were in their 'prime;. We need physical, energetic and technically good midfield players who can run with the ball, know how to win the ball back and retain possession. Berge let the game pass him by yesterday for the most part. I suspect if we get this lad from Man City, and Doyle gets fit, he will be on his way and Fleck will be on the bench.

The advantage of Norwood is that his passing is generally good but having Fleck and Berge with him doesn't work

We need a ball playing, scoring, shithouser in central midfield, along the lines of a Michael Brown.

Berge and Norwood even if morphed into a single entity dont meet the criteria.
And a similar type up front!

This may seem harsh and it isn't just on the mistake but I wonder if it is time to show a few the door before the window closes.

I think persevering with Fleck and Osborn in particular does us no good at all.

As a midfield there is simply no output, be that assists or goals and neither is playing a defensive role.

I'd like us to rethink central midfield.

Instead of throwing it all out, put McAtee next to Norwood. He is an attacking midfielder and he is left footed. It doesn't mean he has to play number 10. Try these two together.

In front of them, I'd be happy to try Berge or Khadra as a 10 behind N'Diaye and either Sharp or Brewster (instead of having N'Diaye too deep). You still have the option of taking off a forward and bringing on the one you left out of Khadra/Berge.

I'd then like to see Coulibaly used initially as an impact sub to inject some energy.

I think you're limited in defence due to injuries.

Wes
Anel Egan RND
Baldock Norwood McAtee Lowe
Berge
Brewster N'Diaye

Subs - Amissah, Basham, Clark, Coulibaly, Khadra, Sharp, Jebbison

If Khadra is fit he has to start same for Brewster.
Got to be tempted to play Arblaster/Coulibaly hopefully Mctee, need some energy and urgency to get forward from midfield.

Norwood
Berge

McAtee
Iliman

Norwood is invariably a much better performer at home where we see more of the ball and our WB's play higher up the pitch.

However, we do need a ball carrying midfielder alongside him (a la Fleck from 3 years ago)... Is that Arblaster, Doyle or Coulbillay? I've no idea, but playing them both wouldn't be an option for me.

Reminds me of the time we played Leon and Billy upfront together. Never worked. Both were lethal but didn't have the legs to play together.

Never realised Fallowfield had been transfered!!!
Was it a good deal? Is this Bongleblade any good? Whats his form like?
