Tuesday at York will be the first time we see a Ruben Selles Sheffield United team. A step into the unknown in many ways.

Channeling Donald Rumsfeld, here are some known knowns:
1. Arblaster won't be available until September;
2. RS says he wants Hamer to play central;
3. He says he wants to play with wingers;
4. He's known for preferring 4-2-2-2 or 4-3-3;
5. Brooks can play right or left, Caceres and Nwachukwu left, Ukaki right.

A known unknown:
1. Where the hell does O'Hare fit in?

What do you think the starting lineup will be?

Grbic
Burrows
Anel
Robbo
Ser….
Hamer
Peck
OHare
Brooks
Cannon
Campbell

4-2-2-2

All players will get 45 minutes I’d imagine.

Formation will be interesting.

Will he pick 11 as his likely “first team line up” and then swap (or to start second half) to give us that clue ?

Looking forward to a few beers in York first although rain is forecast!!

This is very likely to happen. I would like to see the 4-3-3 formation.

Cooper
Seriki Anel Bindon Burrows
Peck Hamer
Brooks COH
Campbell Cannon
I think this may well be the case, though would you agree that it has a square-peg feel to it regarding COH on the left wing?

I'm interested to see if Jeff, Chris and Success get any minutes and if so, whether they look up to the level.

1st half (with CAM):
-------------------Cooper
Seriki-Anel-Sasnauskas-Burrows
-------Peck----Marsh----Hamer
Brooks-------Campbell------Cannon

2nd half (with CAM):
------------------Davies
Curtis-Bindon-Robbo-McCallum
---T Davies--O'Hare--Hampson
Ukaki---------Moore---------Caceres

2nd half subs:
Oné, Nwachukwu, Shackleton, RND

Only including players who were in Girona.

(4-3-3)
Cooper
Seriki Ahmedhodzic Bindon Burrows
Davies Peck Hamer
Ukaki Campbell Brooks

It’s reported that Cannon has been played as a left winger in training, which suggests that we won’t be seeing a formation with two upfront.

I think Hamer would be in the middle in that formation, not so?

Also suggests we won’t be seeing much of Cannon full stop.

Cannon on the left wing sounds barmy but if he can get some use out of him out there, it gives the option of changing formation to a front two without changing the players.

First friendly is almost always 45 mins each with first choice defence one half and first choice attack the other. I doubt Selles knows his first 11 yet anyway, so could just start with last season's side and tactics to begin with and tinker with it from there.

You don’t drink when it rains ?

My guess is that he’ll start with the broad formation we had last season but with a more aggressive press.

Cooper
Seriki - Anel - Bindon - Burrows
Peck - T. Davies
O’Hare - Hamer - Cannon
Campbell

Based on comments from people at the camp saying Cannon has been used wide left but you could easily stick brooks there.

I think that, depending on ins & outs, the first league match of the season might look a lot like this. But I’m not expecting to see it in the first friendly.

My lad goes on a boys holiday on Tuesday. I can imagine his Tuesday night will be better than mine sat watching Grbic in York
For his sake, I hope so!

Not sure what the equivalent is.

All his mates are unable to aim their pints in their mouths?
