I'd go

....................Long
......Baptiste Edgar McEveley
Brayford.................................Kelly
..........Coutts..Hammond..Whiteman
..............Done...Sharp

I'd give Kelly a go from the start to see how he gets on, not got a lot to lose so we might as well see. I'd also give Whiteman another start. I'd possibly bring Diego off the bench as well as he hasn't really been given much of a second chance, especially given the fact that we have given numerous chances to garbage like Sammon.

Baps injured...pay attention....no Che?
He's your favourite isn't he and apparently been training well this week...

We've got a lot to lose.
Because of injury Basham in for Baptiste.
Same line up as Oldham.
Same tactics.
Should have been the same at Millwall.

Injured? I wonder whose cracking idea it was to sign a bloke that has just recovered from a broken leg. Che's attitude problem lets him down. If he doesn't want to put the effort in, I'm sure there's plenty more youngsters that will. He should only get a place when he starts to really show he's learnt from his mistakes, I don't suppose that can happen in a week.

Hamstring I believe...probably nowt to do with his broken leg...

Subs: Howard, McGahey, Kelly, Coutts, Woolford, Cuvelier, Calvert-Lewin

Whiteman can play centre half can't he? Playing him on the right of a back three against poor opposition should be the best introduction for him.

Baptiste is injured and Edgar

is on International Duty with Canada. Assume the OP didn't know this.

For me I'd look at 2 potential line ups - I'd hesitate Her, sorry Ricky, old habits, on having Whiteman move. Let's allow him to make a role his own rather than having him in the utility role already just because he's a decent size physically and capable in more than one position.

Toss up between Reed and Cuvelier in the first. Historically the latter has shown a greater goalscoring prowess though not with us yet.

says Adkins.. sorry but i'm not sure that i buy it. it's propaganda.. and if it isn't, criticising such a young player publicly is very poor management. it should be kept in house
'ooh i had to put Sammon in (even though i know the fans think he is shite) because Che never turns up at training and is a bad role model'. yeah right. then eventually Che gets back in the team.. plays well and 'ooh i'm such a good man manager'

Coutts----------Reed-------Whiteman---Adams
-------------------------Sharp

Subs:
Ramsdale
Kelly
Semple
Done

I'd want to take this chance to try Whiteman at RCB because you don't know when he'll get another chance to start a game at all, that's how it seems to be with our youngsters. Remember how Jagielka moved from CM to RB and looked great. Whiteman could well be good in midfield, but he might look even better at the back. At his age many players haven't found their best position. You just don't know until you throw them in at first team level. Playing different positions is also a great way of learning and if he had a good game there it could build confidence and go from there until the end of the season. I'd say he has a good chance in a back three because he looks to have the passing ability, composure and physicality.

Isn't kelly a right back / centre back. Let's stick the fucker at left wing back then

Whilst the prospect of the play-offs is still there, I can't see NA going all experimental, they'll be selections that will still be questioned, but not supported.

The only thing experimental is the side he's putting out, and that's why he probably won't get a grant for more tests

Long
Brayford basham mceverley
Flynn Reed Whiteman cuvellier done
Sharp Adams

i have a feeling though that he will change formations for tomorrow although the changes will in my opinion strengthen the team and Adkins love child has to play

My tuppence worth:

Long
Basham McGahey McEveley
Brayford Cuvelier Whiteman Flynn Done
Sharp Adams
Subs: Howard, Kelly, Flynn, Hammond, Coutts, Reed, De Girolamo

Handing out the half time lucozades: Sammon

Against a Crewe side who are going to look to sit deep and frustrate us I don't see a place for Hammond. Whiteman plays the box-to-box role for the U21s so let's give him a chance against the side who are second bottom for a reason; Flynn and Cuvelier are two of the few football intelligent players we have so they should be tasked with getting their foot on the ball and their heads up.

What I think we'll see:
Long
Basham McGahey McEveley
Brayford Cuvelier Hammond Flynn Done
Sharp Adams
Subs: Howard, Kelly, Flynn, Whiteman, Coutts, Reed, Sammon

Graham Kelly: A defender, he was with St Kevin's Boys in Ireland. Graham has represented Republic of Ireland at U16s and U17s levels. A tough tackling full back who is also capable of playing in the centre of defence, he has already been a regular in this year's youth team.

Sounds like a plan. If we're trailing at half time I suggest we bring Flynn on for Flynn.

Paul McGrath....... Now there's a player who could read a game

Everytime I have seen the u21 up he's played RB with McFadden lb. I just assumed, cheers.

You’re not confusing him with Jake Phillips are you? He was playing RB for the U21s earlier in the season. Don’t know if he still is.

...erm... at least something to do with the fact that he hasn't played competitive football for nearly a year. Before I get accused of using it as a stick, I voiced my concerns when we signed him that he didn't fit with Adkins' "robust, 40 games a season-type player" prerequisite, as he was obviously going to be susceptible to such minor injuries as pulled hammies. Lo and behold...

My team would be:-

Long
Brayford-Basham-McEveley
Flynn - Done
Reed-Hammond-Whiteman
Sharp-DDG

Two full-backs and a midfield player as centre halves ... now where have we had that before ??? It's like Clough never went away!

If by some miracle Kennedy and K Wallace are fit I'd put them in the starting XI with a rejig and Flynn and Done dropping out.
