I'd like to see how this would work.

It breaks up the Anel & Robinson pairing that doesn't work.

It pushes Seriki and Burrows into advanced areas that they should be more comfortable in.

It hopefully gets Hamer on the ball a lot more, driving us forwards from deeper areas.

And it gets BBD playing off Campbell high up the pitch.
Hopefully he can drop into wide pockets when receiving the ball, and attack the box when our wing-backs have it.
(would also like to see O'Hare in this role against teams that really sit in).

In general, I really want to see us abandon the rigid style we've seen which relies on holding our shape (at all times) and hoping for moments.

Let's throw caution to the wind and push up in numbers and find some combinations to break teams down.

Lets see both wing backs high up the pitch, holding the touchline, creating space inside (Bogle & Firpo do this magnificently for Leeds).

We have plenty of decent subs, let's attack and defend in numbers and empty the tank. Leave nothing in reserve.
We can overwhelm our opposition, let's try that for a change.

I put on almost an identical post last week. I realise some will see that as a backward move but with the players we have going to 3 at the back is an absolute no brainer.
 

This is Cardiff for heavens sake not Liverpool and we're going 5 at the back!, go for it! 2 up front!
 
im very worried Wilder saying does robinson dropping because of 1 or 2 bad games. he really is blinkered towards robinson, because he had these cock ups since at least slav
 
Would like to see us back to a 5-2-3.

Arguments to be made for Peck over O'hare and Diaz over Brewster.

Don't think we will see much change listening to the press conference to be honest

Just listening now and thinking the same thing.

He's still thinking in small margins, "not good enough in both boxes." Essentially laying the blame at individual players doors for not producing "big moments."
"Not going to take a wrecking ball to a team that's achieved over 2 points per game."
So no acknowledgement then of the overall performances and inability to dominate against sides with vastly inferior squads, budgets etc.

Also sad to hear him talking about how jealous lots of other clubs will be of us. The reality is, we probably have the third highest wage bill, spent the third highest amount on agents fees and have the third best squad.
Wilder blowing his own trumpet is wearing thin.

He referenced Robinson "leading us as he has done all season" and Holding "not being up to speed" because he hasn't played enough games "because we were winning games of football." Well, we've lost our last 3 and it still doesn't sound like he'll be given a chance.

A disappointing follow-up to a poor week. I was hoping for a lot more, but he's still in "siege" mode and seems incapable of objective thinking.

Yeah it's frustrating. We didn't heed the warnings of the performances throughout the season because we were sneaking results and it seems we're just going to stagger on hoping the fine margins go back in our favour. It could happen but I don't feel we're giving ourselves the best chance. Time will tell

Sadly Robinson will be the first name on the team sheet, and Wilder sticking 2 fingers up to the fans!

(even) if we win all 4 are Burnley going to lose another (or draw the other 3)?. Dirties won’t lose 2 (lose 1 : draw 3)
Let’s rest Peck, Burrows, Souza, Campbell, ‘protect’ Hamer (how far off another suspension is he?)
Game time for Gilchrist/Clarke, Holding, McCallum, Davies (T), Moore, Shackleton (?!) to improve’ (match) fitness ; Cannon,BBD, Brooks to enhance confidence.

Doesn’t allow for changing the system (sic) but that appears unlikely / too late?!?

This should probably go in Cappy's thread but I thought Wilder left the door open a little for Robinson coming out of the team. Yes he talked about JLT needing to "lead from the front" but also mentioned selection decisions etc specifically about Robinson, which I didn't expect him to do.

Rest of what you've written there though is hard to disagree with. Mentioned the fact we had "70% possession" about six times as a counterargument to how we're playing.

even if we win on good friday. if the other 2 do. then leeds & burnley will be promoted on Easter monday, if leeds beat stoke & burnley beat us
 
I'd like to see KM start, and us do one of the following things:

1. 3 CB's, with a midfield diamond and 1 up top.
2. 3 CB's, with a flat midfield 3 and 2 up top.

Another advantage with dropping Robbo is we can stop this stupid long throw tactic.

I would like to see O'Hare playing alongside Hamer but with BBD in his LW position.

Without changing set up too much id like to see

Cooper

Seriki - Anel - Holding - Burrows

---------- Souza --- Peck

O'Hare ---- Hamer ---- BBD

---------- Campbell

The idea being Seriki to bomb down the wing while OH plays further inside to link up with Hamer, allowing Hamer to take a more left central role to get him onto his right foot.

BBD to join Campbell up top when he can, with Burrows supporting down the left.

If need be, Souza and sit deeper to cover for the full backs. Although ideally he'd be mopping up in the middle.
 
Wilder isn't going to try and reinvent the wheel with only 4 games of the regular season left, couple of tweaks maybe but that will be it.

On Friday we should be going for it from the start, no pissing about.

I think he will drop Robbo but apart from that no wholesale changes to the squad or tactics;

Subs - probably like to see Brooks for one of the wingers with O’Hare going wide for the other and Cannon and Moore coming on as a duo.

Possibly Choudhury introduction's for Hamer if job is done and Gus hasn’t been booked.
2 up top is a must..100% agree. Won't happen. Expect tippie tap football along the back four and let Cardiff get set before we move the ball forward.
 
I think we have the players to successfully switch to the 3-5-2 (5-3-2) of our 2019/20 season. Hamer would fit the Duffy role, Souza(Norwood) Peck(Fleck) etc. We have 2 attacking wing backs and a few combinations for the front 2. Anel has shown he can be effective as an overlapping cb.
Although I would leave Robinson out, he is more comfortable on the left side of a 3.
My choice would be
 Cooper
Seriki Gilchrist Holding Anel Burrows
Hamer Souza Peck
Campbell then BBD or JRS or O'Hare
I know it's not ideal changing systems but we have become predictable and this would give other teams something else to think about.

This would be interesting. I'd say given current form it should be JRS to partner Campbell. And Hamer in the middle ahead of Souza & Peck. Only issue is if Seriki or Burrows get injured we have to revert to fullbacks+ wingers.

What really annoys me with the attacking talent we have we play some really turgid football ,he had the chance to drop into 3-2-3-2 when souttar got injured
Extra attackers bbd,jrs,brooks, brewster, Cannon, Moore and others
We've got a squad that should be more open and attacking
