My team for Tues night:-
Blackman
Baldock - Stearman - Wright - JOC - Lafferty
Leonard - Fleck
Duffy
Sharp - Evans/Brooks
At a push, if Freeman can play left wing-back I'd perhaps put him ahead of Lafferty. Since Coutts' injury, as a team, we've gone much more functional than fluid and our defensive weaknesses have tended to become more exposed. Lafferty is much better defensively than Stevens, as is Freeman. Wright comes in as the defence seems to function better with him in there. And i think Leonard's best position is as a defensive midfield player, again giving us more cover defensively. Cut out the soft goals and the worldies (Leonard in that area should be much better at closing down the oppo than Lundstram or Evans) and we might start getting somewhere.
As for up top, scratching my head a bit as who to partner Sharp. I think Clarke could do with a spell out of the team to give him a kick up the backside. Brooks, Sharp, Duffy in forward areas is a bit too lightweight for my liking, ditto if Wilson comes in to the attack. I'd give Ched a go, if he can't do it against Burton who can he do it against. Have to say letting Hanson and Lavary go out on loan has cut our options down in the forward positions, both for me would offer something different being thrown on as subs (much in the same way Chief and Pesci did back in the 02-03 season). No defender would enjoy coming up against Hanson and Lavary at least had a turn of pace that the current out-and-out forwards are lacking.
