Team depth

First three posters horseman of the apocalypse. The effort and commitment needed to be either a deep state piglet spreading fear or just a pessimist that can only remember the bad times is applaudable. Current depth is likely in and around playoffs, see what the next couple of days bring, then wait for January.

What makes you believe you are getting a new board by next Friday never mind this. The board is in the hands of the prince and what we know is he’s good at cutting costs and selling players

I’ve not mentioned a new board, a lot of what is being said is very contradictory, as are PAs actions for balance, he could have sold Ndiaye and Berge but choose to go for promotion. He could have given more money to wilder to entice McBurnie to stay. In the same way he could have paid bills on time, he could have made worse decisions that meant we hadn’t played in the premier league for 3 seasons and overtaken our city rivals in every capacity.

It’s swings and roundabouts. There’s also an argument that the now sales of ex players has raised additional revenue that allows us to do business. It’s all 50/50 for me, and to run us any better than that would require money, which he ain’t got.

All of that said in the same way, I could spill piping hot coffee on my member and then get it extended for free on the NHS. It’s life. We are merely custodians, it’s your right and decision to focus on the worst or best.

In and around the play offs based off what? 🤣 🤣 🤣

We are a couple of injuries away from having Coulibaly in midfield and Brewster upfront.

The rest of the shite in the division Slim Man added to fact last season on the 1st of January there was 5 points separating 6th and 14th. it’s almost as if we are carrying the same false weight and delusional grandeur around as a Leeds or Wendy fan. This season was always going to be a rebuild, we’ve gone from people saying we’re relegation fodder to mid table that’s progression.

we played a deliberate under strength side to lose at Barnsley to lower the risk of injuries
it was obvious in round 1 we made 11 changes but kept scoring goals and failed to lose

this continual slagging off is counter productive , only the league matters
a lot of clubs are deliberately ( and not too seceretly ) throwing in the towel on this awful hated waste of space cup

we are only 2 wins from an automatic spot
norwich are supposed to be top contenders but we should probably had won with chances we had

If we don't get promoted this season we'll have to sell more players next summer. If we're lucky one (at a push two) academy players MAY be ready to step up next season
The indication from CW has been to rebuild to be ready to compete in compete in the PL. Nothing has been suggested that we are going for it this year.
Clearly if there is a takeover and money is available then things may change.

Ok I’m saying there is a general assumption it was happening 2 months ago, 1 month, 1 week, 1 day, morning, afternoon etc all I know is give him Prince 18m and he’d sell hamer

In the playoff season 22 we were 7 points away from the top six January 1st.

Last season the gap between 6th and 14th was: 5 points

The season before that: 3 points.

We are not one of the 10 worst teams in the division, especially if like you stated we have drawn with two teams that are mid table at best one of whom finished on the edge of the playoffs last season.

Purely out of interest and not to be a dick which 7 teams that finished below Norwich do you believe have improved enough to overtake them?

And, which two sides are capable of amassing the same point tally of Leicester and Ipswich?

Who said we're in the worst 10 sides in the division?

Norwich have lost a few and not replaced them, such as their best player in Gabriel Sara. So teams don't need to have improved to overtake them. But Sunderland and Boro for two without even thinking. Coventry.

Anywhere between 9th and 15th is mid table and that's where I see us staying.

Keep all players (maybe sell Trusty) but replace with better. A striker (proven) what give us a good chance.

The data from the last three seasons suggests, that mid table teams are in touching distance of the playoffs. It was what I expected with my original prediction of “in and around the playoffs”.

Although this is weird to experience, I feel like we agree with that prediction Slim Man, although my understanding is that our performance indicators are based on different indicators I.e. league position or points. I believe the latter is of higher value.

I was merely trying to highlight that being placed 14th and being only a couple of game’s away (5/6 points) from a playoff spot is, in my eyes, in and around them. I do disagree with the 9th to 15th comment though because 15th would make us the 10 worst team, and, like I said I don’t believe we are anywhere close to being in that category.

Fantastic, so despite inferring I'm a doom monger you actually agree with me 🤣 🤣

Very easy to slip down the league once you realise you have nothing to play for and drop to lower midtable. That's the only way I suspect we'll end up there, but it could happen. We just don't have the depth required once a few injuries kick in. That said, even the starting XI has an imbalance, we don't have a set partnership at centre half and our left wing situation is allover the shop. And the centre forward isn't doing much.

Oh Slim Man please don’t, it was getting interesting then. And respectfully I didn’t infer it, don’t get your wires crossed, I said you are.

Reads second paragraph. And realised I “infer” you agreed with me🤣

Can’t disagree with any of that. Although patience is required I can see it being a positive season overall.

precisely, some going on like we are heading for being relegated weve played 3 and are unbeaten, 2 away from home
That’s not the point I’m making, and that’s not what anyone has said

Had to edit that to make it less boring and made it even worse. Some effort 👍

We've got some depth, ideally need 3 or 4 more players in though.

We have many players who can cover in multiple positions if required: Burrows, RND, Hamer, Shackleton etc.
