Now we have these three in (maybe more) what do folk think the team and bench will be on Friday? I dont have a good enough opionion on the new players but would love to know what people think, the bench could especially be interesting

Leonard will be straight in. Evans will be on the bench with Lundstram, either of who will come on for Duffy after 60 minutes instead of flogging him to death as we have done recently. Wilson will have to get in the queue. Rest of the team picks itself but I still think Billy will be the ace in the pack for this game, either starting ahead of or coming on as sub for Donaldson.

I think all three will be on the bench, Possibly Wilson to start up front alongside Clarke to give extra pace

Moore
Baldock
Basham
Stearman
O'Connell
Stevens
Fleck
Lundstram
Duffy
Clarke
Donaldson

Blackman
Carter-Vickers
Lafferty
Leonard
Wilson
Sharp
Carruthers

Can't see Carruthers or Lafferty making it.

Who's the cover #10 and LWB? Two of most demanding positions in the team

Think if Stevens got injured, we'd probably revert to 4-4-2 with maybe JOC going LB.

You might be right, but Carruthers for Evans. We don't need a number 10 and Carruthers has been woeful when he's had the opportunity, so we could quite easily play a flat midfield 3.

Or stick with the formation that has proved so successful so far :D

Jos wants to know if he can borrow any of our players?
Preferably defenders to go with the nine he's already got on the team-sheet.

We'll either bamboozle them with attacking flair or send in the heavy bombers from the outset.

Imagine Dresden or Pearl Harbor.

I reckon Don will probably start. Be harsh to drop him after he's done so well the last few matches. Plus, from what I've seen of them Wednesday's centre halves are weak and cowardly and prone to being monstered by big lads like Leon and Don. Wilson as an impact sub after the starting two have bullied the piggies for an hour.

Subs- Blackman. Leonard. Donaldson. Sharp. Lafferty. Carter-Vickers. Lavery

If there is a bit of a surprise, I also think Leonard will come in.

Moore
Bash Stear JOC
Baldy. Enda
Len
Lundy. Fleck

And then either Duffy behind Leon or Leon alongside Clayton or Bill.

Yeah i agree, i think Billy may have also done enough to earn a start, but the thought behind Wilson was that pace would frighten them and we know how Wilder likes to start fast

Nice to have have options. When Brooks comes back we'll have several excellent possible combinations up top.

Moore

Basham Stearman O'Connell

Baldock Lundstram Fleck Stevens

Duffy

Donaldson Clarke

Subs: Blackman, CCV, Leonard, Carruthers, Thomas, Wilson, Sharp

This is the correct way to go.

Lafferty for Thomas also acceptable.

Yeah and Evans too.

Like you say, we have some options now, which is what Wilder was looking for in that "last bit"

Think we could see Leonard in for Baldock if he’s struggling for fitness...The Don and Clarke up top for me..

This. Let's keep the new boys in reserve and give Wilson a run at them late on when their aged team is tiring.

I think it would be harsh on the incumbent players and probably out of character for Wilder to put the new lads straight in. It's not like Fleck, Lunny, Don, Clarke, Sharp have been playing particularly badly - the opposite infact.

Any other game, you'd maybe justify it but how do you tell somebody who's been playing well that he's out for the biggest game of the season for the new lad?

If any of the new lads come in, I'd imagine it'd be because of injury, illness or fatigue we're currently unaware of.

That said, for the first time in a long time, I haven't got a bloody clue how we'll line up which is a good thing.

Wilson to come on late in the game could be very interesting, I presume all three will be on the bench, if there is no Carruthers as most think is Evans the logical choice to replace Duffy after an hour? Whatever else it has added a lot of excitement for all of us, will only help the confidence and consequently the atmosphere, not getting in front of myself but to put balance into it what would you be thinking now if you were a Wendy? Bring it on.

This but Carruthers for Lafferty on the bench. We've no one to come on for Duffy.

Chance he will start Leonard for Lundstram but risky and ballzy to give a debut start to a new signing in this game.

Five up front and two at the back, no point in letting them off.
