One of our players that can hold their head up high after our start. Never hid, and generally looked a step above everyone else, especially against Middlesborough. Seems to be a good character too. Excited to see him and Ben Mee together as I imagine that will be Wilder's preferred partnership at the back.

Am I getting carried away, or were there vestiges of "overlapping" today? Either way, thought he was excellent. Very good with his feet for a defender.

Good point mate.
I remember thinking to myself 'WTF is he doing up there' but maybe as you say, Wilder can see enough O'Connell-type potential in him to give it a go.

Offered quite a lot going forward whilst being defensively assured at the same time. If we ever revert to 442 he's probably lightyears ahead of our other RB options. (Ahead of our other CB options too, but the gulf is not as big).

Tanganga played right back in a 4-4-1-1 yesterday.

He's been great so far. Definitely one of the players who will inspire others and drive us out of this mess.

From what I see it depends if we have possession or not.
Not quite correct, it depends where the opposition have their possession. Watford very rarely had sustained possession in the last third (for them). On the few occasions it happened Ogbene is probably still under instruction to drop down to a wing back position as we tweak it to a back five. But yesterday he was very much part of our midfield four when Watford built from the back, let alone when we attacked.

Only at the end I'd say we played with a back five, with Shackleton keeping an eye on Bola off he ball and Tanganga defending a bit more centrally.

An absolute beast in 1v1 battles, just moves players out of the way. Also has that Bash trait of looking like he's about to fall over in attacking possession and suddenly ending up past his man

Aye, we went to a back 5 for the last 10-15 mins after he brought Burrows and Shackleton on, which is why it felt like we were sitting back towards the end of the game I think.
