Southampton had a goal mistakenly ruled offside in the first 10 minutes of the game.

Did the Southampton players sulk? Will Koeman be berating the referee after the game for costing them a win? No. Because they carried on playing with a positive, professional attitude and are now 5 nil up...and still going for goals.

One thing that makes my piss itch with Clough is his refusal to accept responsibility for himself and his team. It's that lack of character that has made him an average-at-best Manager.

His reaction in the League Cup game was very mardy, it's really held Southampton back...

Opening post was one of the worst excuses I've ever seen to get a dig in at Clough on your own thread.

Either post about Southampton elsewhere or add to one of the other 'Clough is wank' posts. Rubbish.

Brilliant stuff.

Agenda alert agenda alert agenda alert .

Bristol City and Barnsley away seem to have been replaced pretty quickly don't they?

Without a doubt the most infuriating I saw this season was the obvious lack of confidence in the team. I went to about 10 home games, and all of them would go like this: United would dominate for about 30 mins, then score. Then, literally from the kick off, they'd sit back and defend like as if they'd nicked a scrappy goal against Barce and hand Messi et al bearing down their neck. Now, in the FA cup this tactic works and makes perfect sense, but against Colchester.......at home, not so much. Under Danny Wilson that team would take the Leagues minnows to the cleaners, they had the attitude that they where far superior to Bury and put them to the sword when they came to us. The players need to believe what the fans do, that we're too good for this league.

No agenda at all. Just a post born out of frustration after watching the Southampton performance this afternoon and prior to it listening to the audioboo of Nigel Cloughs post match interview (which may explain the randomness of it mattbianco1). I'd love to see United go out to win games like they did today.

I'd love to see Clough do well but his post match interview of the Swindon game was typically stubborn and blaming everything over the two legs from referees, to injuries, to his own players (ones he has signed, ironically). The season has been a failure imo but according to Clough finishing 2 places higher then the season before, despite having one of the biggest budgets in the league, is still satisfactory progress.

If this is the mediocrity we're going to have to acclimitise to then we're in for a rough ride. The Prince won't continue to haemorrhage his hard earned wealth into the club if spending a relatively large amount to scrape into the playoffs is the height of our ambition.

Anyway, if by this time next year we're celebrating a 100pt + promotion stampede i'll happy to be a knownowt :)

Give him a chance and you stay in the ground until the final whistle too ;-)

Can you actually itch piss? I know we like to debate the games we have played and with every good reason, there seems to be quiet a lot of post regarding NC like he should go, or he needs to put the frailties in our team to rights, we all know the short comings we have had this season, yet we debate it in nearly every post. The season is over we have analysed it to death, what we can do is let the board and the manager sort out the club in readiness for the new season, I for one believe NC has learned a stark lesson, from now to pre season I am sure we will have lots to talk about or debate, this will include new signings, pre season friendly and our new playing surface. I am excited at the prospect of a team I love to achieve what we missed out of this season and that is to be in the championship a better forward playing, strong team, we will always follow. UTB
